Ford Explorer Branding Reimagined - Part 1

The whole concept of the ongoing BIG WHITE Ford Explorer project is to create something along the lines of what Ford might had done in an alternate reality year 2000 had they decided to create a limited special edition Ford Explorer that had not only luxury (far exceeding anything on the market) but also high performance - perhaps in a partnership with Saleen & SVT - which would have sold for $60k to $80k or more…… in the year 2000

Part of my vision for this alternate reality version of the 2nd Generation Ford Explorer is a reimagining of the stock Ford Explorer branding emblems.

In this photo you will see a NOS Ford OEM “Limited” emblem. On the stock 2nd Generation Explorer this emblem is placed on the rear tailgate and on both front doors of Explorers equipped with the Limited trim package. Ford interestingly enough placed the two emblems that are found on the front doors slightly offset so they can be directly illuminated by the side mirror puddle lamps which gives a classy appearance at night.

The other “sticker” emblem is one that Saleen used on many of their supercharged models during the 1990’s and beyond.

As a 1st step of this branding reimagining - I intend to produce one off “Supercharged” emblems in the same size, thickness, material, and color as the Ford OEM “Limited” emblems while maintaining the Saleen script font. The new one off emblems will replace the stock “Limited” emblems currently installed on Big White. These will not be stickers but identical OEM style 3D raised emblems visually the same that those that came from the Ford factory.

Here is a very rough (not final material, finish, dimensionality or size) of the Supercharged Logo that will replace the three Limited Logos on Big White. With this, will add dimensionality comparable to the design of the OEM Limited logo seen in the photo. Color will match exactly and other size plus design tweaks. So far so good.

Ford Explorer Branding Reimagined - Part 3 - Emblems have been printed and now will be painted to match the OEM (SVT in Red). Printed using Formlabs @formlabs High Temp Resin.

Next to last photo is rough photoshop ( thanks @WheelsXP8) mock-up of how this might look.
