Ford Module Programming with J2534

Would appreciate any experience anyone has had downloading and flashing with a J2534 pass-thru (OBD-II port). Curious what modules are available for flash aside from the obvious PCM. Would I be able to access other CAN modules such as the Nav system (to reconfigure)? The cheapest pass-thru I can find is the Mongoose-plus (I think from Drew Technologies) for $375. Still expensive but less than the others for over a grand. Anyone used it?
