Fuel gauge not working

Hi, i have 06 explorer and yesterday I changed the fuel pump module assembly I bought CARTER P76118M FUEL PUMP so I filled up the tank and the gauge doesn't work like it did with the old pump full tank and the reading was 3/4 and today it drop to half tank, any suggestions on what might be the cause?

Either a bad sending unit, faulty gauge or bad ground! could be any one of those or all three you wont know till you take each out of the picture! I would start with the ground and any other electrical connection that you may have come in contact with when you changed this out!
