I have a 94 X and was wondering what the drive gears are.
Yes, I did a search and couldn't find shlt.

I pulled the tag off the rear pumpkin.

The top line says "6622D"
The bottom line says "27 88 3J16"

Look on your driver side door sticker and find the code.

Axle codes:

41 - 3.27 non-limited slip (Explorer/Mountaineer)
45 - 3.55 non-limited slip (Explorer/Mountaineer)
46 - 3.73 non-limited slip (Explorer/Mountaineer)
42 - 4.10 non-limited slip (Explorer/Mountaineer)
D1 - 3.27 limited slip (Explorer/Mountaineer)
D4 - 3.73 limited slip (Explorer/Mountaineer)
D2 - 4.10 limited slip (Explorer/Mountaineer)

i beleive that u have 3.27 gears which is a good reason why your explorer doesnt take off the line as well as it should check your door code for further verification

Yip, 41.
Damn 3.27s!

I like the 4.30s in my Cobra!

wow 3.27, those are a bit limiting

well look at the positive side, your highway mileage will ROCK !!!

I get 20.5 MPG on the highway with my 4.30s:rolleyes:

My 3.73's in a 93 did better on highway than the 3.27's in my 91 XLT.

also your dif is an open so it will be a one wheel peeler
