Well, after a little hiatus, I am happy to say I am back.

I trust all has been well in my absence. I had some things to attend to in my life, and have those mostly taken care of. I have not forgotten you all, and for amusement I have started a instructional video on rebuilding the 4R70W. It is being done multi camera in high definition, although the finished product will for now be down res'd to DVD definition when it is done. If that works out I may follow with 5R55E. A4LD and maybe a couple transfer case instructional videos. The initial one should be done by late spring I hope.

I don;t plan on wading back into past threads to add anything, but will be around to once again offer my assistance where I can.

Nice to be back.

Very good to see you back. :D:D:D:D

Welcome back Glacier! Did you see any of my PMs? I was looking forward to the A4LD video. Why did you make one on the 4R70W first? I thought that you would have showed up on your birthday. You were trying to encourage me to get a camera, and make photo threads. Well I have a couple, and just made another one a little while ago: http://explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=206353

...glad to see you are back and you definately were missed...:D

Welcome back...although I'm a relative newby to the forum...I was impressed by your posts from the beginning.....Indeed, a sincere welcome back !

....jjf

What a relief!!! I was afraid I was going to fall of my chair after sitting on its edge for so long!

Wellcome back! I hope all is well there!!

Thank you all for the kind words, and yes, everything is fine.

BB I need to wade thru some email and delete some, my box is full!

And no a warped case is a new one on me too.

Oh and the 4R70 came first because I need to build one.... in fact I may do a 5R55W following that, since I need to build one of those next. (g). In due course there will be an A4LD one. Firsst we need to see how the first one turns out.

I was wondering what was wrong with that thing. How did you discover this? Was the valve body also warped?

Well after going through it 7 times and knowing everthing was correctly installed we had to try something. Pressure was good but just a little low. Nothing else would explain the low pressure. Since they gave us a wrong tc and it locked up and completly stoped the engine while it was running and broke the gears in the pump let us know that it prob warped the case when it broke....

And no a warped case is a new one on me too.

Oh now i got one on ya haha

Welcome back Glacier991, you sure was a big help to me and I know you have been a big help to others also.

yes welcome back !! so will your repair video be sold just here ? any idea on price

I will hope to sell it on the web, but with Rick's permission make it available here at a discount to forum members. I have not settled on a price yet, but imagine $75 will be the target area. It will follow much the same layout as the 4R70W Rebuild Diary in the stickies, with some additional areas being covered for 2WD builders. I am expecting the running time to be between 60-90 minutes. Initially it will be DVD only, but later if there is any interest I may make a Blu-Ray version available.

Wow -- I can't wait for the 5R versions!

Welcome back Chris, you have been missed a lot. We need inspiration, keep us motivated.

Thanks all... hold on BB.... these take a little time to put together, a "set" might be years away <grin>... but in my wildest dreams I imagined an A4LD video, a 5R55E and W video and a 4R70W/75W video, as well as a BW 1354 and 4405 transfer case set... so yes it IS in my mind. Right now I am just shooting sections of the 4R70W and from my experience post production is where the time goes in such a project...and THAT has not even started.
