The weather should be nice for racing tonight and since that 15.xx keeps teasing me by only being a few hundredths away from it I'm putting it on a diet for the evening. I've already taken out my sub and amp, the rear seats, passenger side rear tupperware and the rear carpet (tupperware had to come out to get to the sub so I'm just going to leave it out so I can get the sub back in easier). Anything else that I should take out? Thanks

The spare tire, and entire jack compartment are empty. I never carry the spare tire unless I'm going out of town since the size difference is so much I wouldn't want to do any damage to the x-fer case if I didn't have to, since I can just call AAA and get a tow. I guess I might as well take the passenger seat out it's only a couple bolts. The center console need to stay though, there's to much wiring under it that I would have to do something with. Thanks for the suggestions:thumbsup:

center console wiring is one big plug comes out easy once you have it out the 1st time

I have a bunch more wiring under there. I have a small fuse box under it and all of the wiring for my amp, lights, heated seats, etc. branches out from there, and I doubt the safety inspector would like all of that wiring right there next to me.

gotchya!

Take a pre race dump!!

door panels and rear hatch panel, headliner, how many lbs u running in your tires when u race?
i had a 92 ssei bonneville,i raced it with eveything in it,it ran a 16.12..i took everything outta the trunk, and when i say everything i mean everything, speakers and all, took the whole back seat out,and took my door panels off, took my drivers side headlight out for better air flow and my air filter out,and it ran a 14.76,if i can find my time slip ill post it

I've stripped a complete interior

door panels- 5-10 lbs
rear hatch panel-3-5 lbs
headliner-20 lbs max.
dash board-20 lbs.

Only reason to take off your door panels would be to remove window motors while you are at it.

All the interior is pretty lightweight with the exception of the seats.
You would be better pulling off the rear bumper to get a good diet.

Now you got me thinking...

Drive that thing over a scale if you can. I remember pulling out all of my seats, it's that little stuff that adds up once i had a big pile of parts.

You look like you got it pretty well stripped down, just make sure the gas tank is about 1/8 full, lose the battery and just take a jump start LOL.

How is your fan wired up? Not for weight but for power, do you run a low pressure fan clutch at the track? I know my heavy duty job sounds like a piece of farm equipment and has to be robbing me of some power.

Won;t go without the battery--

Loose the skid plates?

sway bars?

don't need those--

Also--we can cure this tease-I am seriously wanting a stock engine and trans again---
hint-

OH man how does a 96 drivetrain sound to ya? Its got rollers, headers, and an E cam :)
Park em next to each other and swap, I'll even give you $5 :) LOL

I don't have any skid plates to take off:( I might lose the rear sway bar though it's easy enough to get to.

All you have to do is say the word, I still have a week of vacation left this year;)

I will try and get it weighed tomorrow before I put it back together

lol, I'd be lucky to weigh 140lbs so driver weight isn't to much of a problem. I'm 6'3" by the way so yeah I'm pretty much skin and bone.

Hmmm, something with the electronics on newer cars? I thought you can disconnect the battery and a car will still run.

Lose that rear bumper, that will shave 50 lbs right there. Oh and pull all your light bulbs, that another 7 ounces.

I'm dead serious-

And if you are, this might work-I could even arrange a payment plan-:D

Sheri and I are focusing on the deck, as it is half way complete. Then I will be ready.

I'm talking a swap of complete transmission and engine-fuel pump, lines -all of it-

Remember , I still haven't solved the cruise control cable issue. It is the only thing not working though-

Thar's a storm a brewin in Kansas:cool:

Honestly it would be easier to just swap keys if the bank was ok with it, Then you would have 4.10 gears too. And swapping the rest of the suspension over would be easy. but whatever I'm sure we can come up with something if that's what you really want

But yours does not have the 4406:D
