Headers and High Flow Cat Convt

If gou have two you have an egr.cheap wrap????they make that? Header wrap is iffy,do it wrong and your rust or burn through the headers in no time!! Ive run pacesetters and wrapped every one of them for in everyone of my toys and had no problems.but i grew up in the pits of dirt tracks of va and Ohio ;)
Swain's truck has no egr. MY 93 had 2 o2's, with no egr and no electrical cam sensor. ( 93 is a confusing year).

I had his intake in hand, it is a typical non egr (91-93)

yeep non egr, the headers and cat convt im getting are 49 state legal, not legal in California, figured i didnt need the ones that were and on top of that CA stuff is more expensive

soo im running into more rust, go figure out Ohio right... any ways, rust on the exhaust manifolds, would i go about the same way with them?

Tap, PB Spray, Pen Torch, Spray, then wrench?

dont wanna bust them off and the rust is BADDD, i can peel parts of the exhaust manifold off in chunks.

i have a box of them so if you cant find just a single one let me know and ill mail you one if you cover shipping.they normally are sold in packs of 3 and run around$15-20
O2 is a M18-1.5 dorman#090-105
EGR is a M22-1.5 dorman#090-055

sorry to butt in on this post but I have a question. I was looking into getting a Dynomax superturbo cat back system but it says '93-'94 explorers and I have a '91. Does this mean I cant use it? whats the difference in the model years.

I thought all first gens were the same in this aspect?

I realize this was asked awhile ago but I'll just throw this info out there for whoever winds up reading this thread searching for Dynomax info, or in case the poster hasn't bought the system yet.

The systems for the 91-92 and 93-94 are different. The 91-92 actually uses a standard 14477 Dynomax muffler (2.25" in/out) and the 93-94 uses a custom muffler with a 2" inlet and 2.25" outlet. The rear pipes are also slightly different, with the pipe for the 91-92 having a hanger, the single hanger for the 91-94 is on the muffler. 2 doors and 4 doors use different length cat-to-muffler intermediate pipes, with the 91-92 being a 2.25" diameter and the 93-94 getting a 2" diameter pipe. This design is also the case with their Walker-branded systems.

The system for the 91-92 is actually better in terms of flow, and fits right on other than not working with the mounting bracket for the other years. I have a '93 and switched to the 91-92 system, all you really need is the exhaust hanger above the muffler from a 91-92 (or something custom) to make it work. If you want an easy no-hassle install though, just get the 93-94 system if you have those model years.

It seems to me that Walker/Dynomax went to a lot of trouble to make custom mufflers for the 93-94 when they really could have just slightly modified the 91-92 system, and had a better offering for less cost.

So would the 2.25 intermittent pipe from a 91-92 fit in the cup and ball joint on a 93-94 if there's is 2"?or does it not come with that pipe?

I got lost in all that, mine has two hangers, one at muffler and one at tail pipe, mine is a 2.25 stock... for now... thought about doing 2.5" after cat convt to tail pipe

I think 2.25 will be fine if not better for you unless you get into engine mods

Hell im still running 2.25 but only because i paid for 2.5 and they didn't do it and never noticed till i bought a 2.5 flowmaster and had them stick it on.then they didn't even make reducers they just filled the gap with weld.so pissed, lost the recite from when they put pipes on then saw that was so pissed and the guy goes well you didn't pay for reducers we can redo it for another $35!!!to say the least i sat in front of there shop doing a burn out till there whole store was filled with smoke!!hahah

thats like Rainbow Muffler in Findlay Ohio, I had them WELD the muffler on, put a ricer muffler on.. dont ask... and he spot weld, said i didnt ask for for weld
