Help!! Dash lights gone crazy

Ok i have an 02 explorer eddie eddition v8 and have been noticing my lights on my dash (odometer) they flicker on and off every 5 min when driving. So i am wondering whats up with that?

Mine does this too. Been doing it for a few years, never noticed any other problems though...

Dash indicator issues are a common problem

I ended up pulling the entire instrument cluster and fixed a few bad solder joints on the back. Most of them were on the right side where there are four fairly large resistors. One more was on the ribbon cable connector for the odometer display. A five minute fix and about an hour to remove/reinstall, but I'm very happy now. It started as a dim odometer/trip display and progressively got worse.
