here we go again .. 03 ex 4.6

for the last couple of weeks i have been hearing a whine in 2nd gear, TODAY i decided to shift it manually into 2nd at 30mph and heard a high pitched whine was loud as the tranny was braking in 2nd , but driving in drive all shifts are good a little hard but ok , i think the forward planetary and forward ring gear is messed up ( bad roller bearing ? ) or low reverse planetary ? since im removing the tranny to replace the T converter , i would like to repair it since it will be out of truck , is that why it whines in 2nd forward planetary ? or what shall i look for , i have rebuild an a4ld 2 years ago i know this is a little different , also the fluid is a reddish brown
