Here we go again.

I thought about using the 90 in my mustang and using the stock 80 from the mustang in the Explorer but then I would have to change all of my tubing on the mustang also and I'm not ready to do that yet.

Get that 4406 in there-we're all pulling for you:thumbsup:

shift indicator was broken, I bought a new one this morning. Anybody know what that extra hole in there is for? I also have an extra hole and wire coming out of the tail stock that I don't know what is for.

The carnage of me beating in the wrong seat pan...Thanks for straighteining me out jts :P

I invented my own means of manipulating the gas tank bracket.

cleared out part of my exhaust heat shield and beat the wrong corner in...jtsmith had to set me straight :)

Gas tank moved back, not exactly easy, but up and in she went.

measure twice and cut once...not my style:( I cut a piece of scrap metal I had laying around and riveted it to the excess hole. One more reason not to let your wife throw away old cookie sheets. :)

Last thing I did today, extended the wiring harness for the speed sensor.

Tomorrow I shall run the wires for the dash, throw in the drive shafts and see if I can get this thing started. Crossing fingers...

UHG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the body is in the way of the speed sensor plug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice nice

I know when changing the engine out of my ex i had to deflate the 36 to the ground and still had a hard time. Removed the hood latch and still had fitting issues. Drug it over the core support and left some good marks

I took my front wheels completely off and set the knuckles on 4x4 blocks, then ended up having to add an extra 2x4 on top of the 4x4 because the cherry picker wouldn't fit under the lower control arms. The hood latch on second gen's doesn't stick up over the core support so it was pointless to even try to remove. I didn't mark up my core support at all but I did mark up my freshly painted oil pan.

I drove the truck around last night and I still have some fine tuning to do but it ran well. It's a little sluggish when you trounce it from 50 and above which I should be able to fix with shift points. I think it needs some more timing at WOT too. I also think I'm going to write up some test tunes and see what I can make it do on the butt dyno, then fine tune it a little bit and go to a real dyno.

4X4 swap worked well too. 2wd worked great, 4wd locked in well and I could defintely feel the difference turning and accelerating. 4low worked, 2200RPM to go 10mph

Why is that beautiful Ford block painted Chevy red?!?

Just kiddin' man, nice build and congrats on getting it up and running.

That's FORD red, thank you very much:D

I'm working on the tune, I've put 25 miles on the motor now, tuning, testing, adjusing fuel, spark and timing. It's almost there. Shift points and firmness are next.

Then it's off to the dyno...

In the mean time, i'm huntin the perfect shift boot. Looking for decent matching gray leather.

Actually John, I was going to ask you about that textured powder coating. How close do you think you could mix up some to match the plastic interior parts if I got a metal trim ring?

Then I'm not sure what is next. Tax time is coming. I know I'm going to do the 02+ front brakes. I've been pondering converting the front suspension to coil overs. I still want to convert the front clip to 02+ sport/sport trac with perry's fenders. Then go 33's:D I want to give the interior features of my Lincoln. I want to do the heated seats, Homelink visors, Rain sensing wipers, 6 disk in dash radio...Maybe I'm getting spoiled :)

Lots of work yet to do.

I saw the texture on the pink kniffies, it looked like it would match the acid etched plastic like the interior parts. I think in gray it would match well. I just need to figure out how to get the leather boot to stay under the ring and look right.

I've actually been thinking an Ebrake handle boot might work best for the angle of the shifter to the floor.
