Aldive and John do i need thse end links you speak of? I'm going to be buying the x spec 98-00 rear bar. I thought the swaybar came complete with everything needed? What benefit do the end links provide? I thought the split collets limited the movement? Group Buy on the swaybars!?!?!? Come on guys! How many would you need for a group buy John? I'm sure we could find enough people interested on this board. I'll start a new thread if you like.
No, you do not need these link bushings. It does not produce any noticable difference. But, the sway bar does! We do have this kit for the owners that"have to have all poly bushings". This kit comes with everything you need. If you get some interest in a group buy, we can start it right away. We need at least twenty members.

John- How will the sway bars improve my handling and ride character. I have a 2.5 inch drop right now, with the proper alignment and camber eccentrics. and it handles tight , specially with the cobra r's.
if we get 20 people for the group buy on sway bars, what is the projected price for the group buy? Id be interested, but only if the price is right. Thanks
The X-Spec sway bar will compliment your lowered Explorer quite nicely. It improves handling even more while reducing body roll. We consider it a must do for ultimate handling.
We have experimented with poly bushings at the rear links and they did not see to make a noticable difference. They do not often wear out.
If they are worn out or cracked due to high mileage etc., it makes sense to replace them with poly bushings. If you want original ones from Ford, you must buy the link assembly.
There is less flex at the links, so poly over rubber does not make a big difference. I would recommend getting under there and inspecting the link bushings. If they are cracked or torn then replace them. If they look ok then it is up to you. If you do replace them with poly bushings, do not expect a noticable difference with the handling. One last thing, poly bushings require some maintenance. You will need to lube them from time to time because they tend to squeak. It is not worth it to us. We install these sway bars at our shop all the time. Customers notice a difference immediatley (with rubber link bushings). It is not impressive when they start hearing a squeak a year or so later.
Expect the discount to be $20. per sway bar. The kits that have two sway bars would be $40. This will include 91-01 Explorers and 01-03 Sport & Sport Tracs. Twenty kits total. All years included!
This hood looks Great!! The best looking Fiberglass Hood I've seen. How ironic, I called Speed Freek down in Florida today inquiring about the Cobra Hood on his web site. He told me that they no longer have them available. He could indeed get one made for me for a mere $1200.00. This Cowl looks much nicer!!!
Does anyone know what height the Cowl is on this hood & would it be OK structurally to open the back up partially for a screen??
The back of the hood is open and has screens installed from the manufacture. The opening is already "dressed". I have not seen this hood in person, but it sounds like they leave little to your imagination.
I have sold one already and is being shipped out this week. I will get feedback and pictures from the customer once it is painted (white) and installed. Of course I will share with you folks!
I assume that the underside is not completely open at the rear. Also the angle of the cowl overhang would be designed to keep water out. Between the hood and the windshield is the stock drain at the actual cowl.
I will understand more once I see the hood. I do not feel that water in the engine compartment will be an issue.
i dont think a little water would matter. when i was gettin my hood repainted last month, the shop had to leave my car outside in the snow while the hood was drying. i asked them about it cus i was worried, and they said because itz fuel injected, you dont have to worry,, almost like cleaning your engine at a car wash, doesnt really affect it. i still put a cover over my hood, but i guess they have a point. i think the cowl that purpony covers the hood also. the only concern i have is that will it open up all the way? like will the hood be able to extend up as far as stock?
John,
That shaker hood that you posted a pic of on the Sport Trac site is great! Is it a stock hood with a cut out? Was the "shaker" a modified mustang mach 1 piece? When do you estimate your Shaker to be available and what will the pricing be?
I really liked the cowl hood but the price is daunting at this time due to a huge tax bill coming due... After that is paid I will be looking to you guys for the Shaker Hood or the Cowl Hood in that order.
