Hoods & Scoops from Explorer Express

Unfortunately, the shaker hood will only fit 01+ (Sport) and Sport Trac. I do not have any details yet. I agree that it looks like genuine ford air intake parts. I am also concerened that it may require a high price tag. I will report back once I find out some details.

I will soon have more pictures of the cowl hood to share.

A high price indeed!

After some searching on the web, I found a site that supplies the shaker scoops. CDC I think it was. Ford asks $895 and CDC is around $795 for the V-6 model that fits the Mustang V-6.

Looks like its the Cowl hood for now... Looking forward to those pictures.

I've been looking for a side exhaust body piece like the mustangs have. Anything in the works? I've already got my truck set up with a side exhaust, but maybe something from the F150 Lightning...?
I found one similar but its $695 including all the exhaust pieces to fit a mustang.

What about a rear roll pan for the 95-97 Explorer?

Thanks for keeping us posted John!

Could you send me a picture of the side exhust piece from the Mustang that you are looking for.

When you our checking out the cowl hoods make sure there is a different part numbers for 95-> Explorers and Rangers. I have been through this before. Some companies think that the Ranger and the Explorer are the same. As we know the sheetmetal is different from 95->.

Side Cutouts

John,
What I would be looking for would be similar to the Lightning side exhaust, more than the mustang.

There is a thread going under "For Sale or Trade" about hoods also. I posted some info from Unlimited about their glass hoods. They list the 93-97 Ranger, and 95-97 Explorers together. Sounds like this might be an error? Someone else said that the mounting and top curvature are different? If its just mounting, hood pins would cover that...
Check out the thread and let us know what you think.

Quite a few places are selling some form of Shaker Scoop all above $750.

Nice!

Rick-
Is that hood the one that Explorer Express is selling?

Several companies are using that pic of the Sport Trac with the shaker scoop. I wonder who the original manufacturer really is?

Thanks for the pics Rick!

I've asked Unlimited for pictures of their 93-95 Ranger/95-97 Explorer hoods for comparison. They don't have any pictures yet.

Without validation from Unlimited, I'd say John's hood is the only way to go at this point. Time to either save the pennies or practice my fiberglass/bondo skills!

Seems like the threads here and under the "For Sale or Trade" are very similar. Could they be added together to focus the discussion in one place?

"Is that hood the one that Explorer Express is selling?"

Yes, I posted the photos for John Vanek.

I don't know anything about Pur Ponys thread or product. I do know that Explorer Express is a sponsor of the site though :D

That's one sweet hood!

Thanks John!

Yeah, but...

The hood scoop on the first post was cool but does it really go with a brush guard?

Street look with an off-road equipment? Hmmm...

The original manufacturer is Pro Finish/Pro Glass in Kendallville, Indiana.

Nick's X hood scoop.

I also was smitten with his hood so I did a little research on where to get the scoop. Got one on the way. Here's the link. pretty cheap.
