Well, I've been laying low and saving money. I wrecked my Daily driver car, and have been carpooling to work, so that part is ok.
The Mounty needs a transfer case. Instead of buying one elsewhere, I got a deal on one included with a lift kit I had committed myself to. So, I had to get that whole deal paid for. The shipping was more than I expected-so it took longer then I expected to get it.
Now it's here, and if I can get my dad to help right quick I think we could swap the transfer case out. I'll drive it stock for awhile to get used to it, then we'll go for the Trailmaster lift and 33's
You can see lift kit and suspension parts all over my dads garage, look at it all.
Huge 4" lift rear springs, shocks, and just about a whole suspension.
I really like the skid plates.
I can't wait. My truck is going to be cool!

I think the batteries in the camera were going bad., and the pictures are kind of blurry. I couldn't wait to pay for my elite membership and post pictures though.

Oh yeah,By the way

I'm an Elite Explorer now. Born today.

Welcome to the world of the elites! Looks like you are getting things set up well.

Progress as of now.
coolant flush
oil and filter
exhaust manifolds
fuel filter
transfer case (and fluid)
rear diff fluid and cover
spark plugs

Things are going a bit slowly, but Bryan is learning his way around his truck, and I'm letting him. ( to the best of my patience-I could do better in this area)

There should be a new front drive shaft waiting for us by about 11:00 AM
We cut the metal tab off the spare tire hanger to allow a 33" spare-and facilitate changing the diff cover.
Bryan drained the rear diff-the fluid was surprisingly clean. It didn't smell bad at all. The seal was pretty dog gone tight, so I am assuming this was original fluid and the truck wasn't ever dunked-
Since it is up off the ground completely-we ran the engine and listed to the transmission shift. The rattling and grinding noise has gone.
I hit the emegergency brake--and it didn't seem to release all the way. we'll take a look t this while it's in the air.

I think we'll get the transmission fluid drained out, and actually tag this thing today!!

I'd like to attack the front diff--but frankly it's coming out for a suspension lift install in a few weeks. We'll wait until then. It seems dry and smooth.

That's progress none the less :D

Now post up some pics :p:

When you get into that front diff, check to see if the rock crusher D35 cover will work please?

Looks like fun Bryan! Enjoy!

Welcome new Smith, and Happy Bday anyway.

I ordered the long driveshaft and we need the short one-
It will be in tomorrow.

We took her for a 2wd spin and no more rattles. This one runs pretty good. It will hit 55 from one end of the bridge to the other. :D

Now some pics

The rust on the bumper doesn't bother me. It will be changed soon enough.

that's pretty good across the bridge, I ran about 60 if I remember right before the tuner. Is he awd still or did he go ahead and do the 4406?

He's sticking with AWD for now.More of a lifted street truck.
He'll be changing to 410 gears before going to a 4406.

Yeah thats looking awesome there Smiths (notice the plural!!!)

But what fun is a street truck without burnouts:burnout: But without gears he would probably need to make a few other mods to be able to spin em. I personally can't wait to roast some tires, I love that smell.

And in honor of the post padding thread, this is post 2000

John, is this your son who was in vancouver?

Well this isn't going to work yet. Shoot

But I do have the technology.

I want to paint the darker red trim a dark grey herculiner. My dad is going to powdercoat the wheels, but I can't decide on a color.
