Hi should my 1999 4.0 sohc ( UK ) model AUTO have gear position information on my dash cluster it does have it on the gear lever console P R N D 3 2 1 but nothing on the dash. I have had the cluster out and no bulbs missing or no continues line of 7 bulbs no 7 holes or anything.
It is not a great problem but if it should have it or not all well and good any info thanks

The only gear indicator on the 99 explorer is the cable driven orange arrow that mechanically shows you the gear selection

There are no light bulbs for gear indicator in 99 no

That low
Mile 98 right hand drive is using a floor shifter !!
It has a black
Blank in the instrument cluster where the gear shift indicator goes. I wonder if all right hand drive gen ii’a we’re that way. I have that same floor shifter in my 5.0 bronco ii!

according to SOLD 1998 Low Milage 81.500 miles this is what the dash looks like
There is a wiring pigtail that sits behind my dash literally just attached to the plastic, not hooked to anything, sitting right behind the dash where that dimmer is. Guess that's why. Never seen that dash before, ain't bad looking? Do think I prefer the manual setup I have rather than the screen.

The bulb in that socket is good though? It may have all of them but one may be burnt out

also, i think cober's truck has the same blank section...🤔 and its LHD iirc... maybe euro explorers had that one?
