Honestly, I really wasn't concered for the rear end breaking, more concerned about only one wheel spinning. I'll need traction off the line in order to beat rocket5979. just kidding, i'll never be that fast...ever...
Than start by installing a powertrax and 4.10 gears, if your going to be a drag racer :D JUST DO IT JAKEE, deeds, not words.

Hehehehe... :D So you plan to put a supercharged engine in the front and another one in the back??? ;) :D

If you do have an open rear end, locate just the carrier from Motorsport or a used one from another Explorer or Cobra. They are the same, but one little advice. When locating from a cobra make sure that it is a 31 Spline setup, stick (solid) axle SN-95 (1994-2004)Mustang's have 28T rear axles. As far as the other Explorers try to keep it in the same body style or newer(which carry 31T axles). There are also other sources but the 28T-31T carrier and which vehicles they are in gets real confusing. If you need help I can easily locate you one. I have great resources.

I'll be getting with you on this as well as everything else.

Okay - Ordered the Cat back yesterday. Wound up getting the Gibson because I really don't want a loud truck.

Spindle - No, I'm really not going full out drag race. I want a fun, fast, reliable street machine. Just going a little further than the average.

Anyone know where to get a good transmission mount? Sort of don't like the stock set-up and wanted something a little stiffer.

Exhaust should be here by wendsday if not sooner.

16 pages, no real data, no baseline data/dyno run and no measured (ie; REPEATABLE) results. I want the past hour of my life back... :D

At least I know (from a link to another post) that I'm on the right track. I plan on a volant-style (sealed) intake, 2.25" mandrel bent exhaust and lots of quality time with the XCal2/data-logging.

Sorry you wasted your time. You can start a thread and do all the dyno'ing you want to. However, keep your eye on this thread. At the end you'll see the results.

As it was told to me, you don't race a dyno. And my opinion is you don't need a dyno to tell you you're slow. I know ROUGHLY where I started from. When I first came to this place I had a point to prove. Now, I really don't care about proving anything to anyone. Just to myself.

Wait a minute...I lied. There is one person I do want to prove a point to.

The wait is killing me Jakee :D

Spindle - You're the king. PROBABLY, No one will ever beat your 210 to the rear wheels with just bolt-ons alone for the 4.0 SOHC. You started off with higher numbers than the average with your truck. You did very good and didn't waste a dime.

However, I'm still going to try, but you we're right about one thing, I'm going to have to work a lot harder than you did. Then again, you didn't "max out". You still have some things you could do. Why did you give up?

reached my goal, now my mod money go's into the roush:)

I can understand that. What are your goals with the stang?

New blower pully (done) real spare tire and rim (done) gas struts for the hood (done)
exhaust is next, than some dyno time.

So how much boost you pushing with the new pulley? I assume you took the spare out for weight? That car is in the 12's stock right?

8 Lbs, the OEM spare will not fit the front (14 inch brembos).
If you get a flat on the front, you need to remove a rear, put it on the front, than put the OEM spare on the back, best to just score a full sized 18x10.
Car is not setup for drag racing, but yes it should run high 12s, stock with the right driver (not me)
