Awesome Jon, I think it has only been a few days since I last checked this thread. Powdercoat on the bumper looks great!

No video but it does swing down.Sheri and I just went out and worked the mechnism a few times. You can feel the shock help, but I think I need to put a bit more force into the spring adjustment.

I'm having my doubts about the stock tire winch part though. So, I think a smallish as I can get electric winch instead---

Now,,,,,where did you get THAT idea? ;)

I have one of those. Its not that small. It plenty strong though. Ive pulled a car with flat tires onto the trailer with a single strand cable.

Well if a winch with long cable is going to be used... why not make a track leading to the roof to store it up there? It likely wouldn't be feasible with a convertible top, but interesting to think about.

Damn i thought Mark had hair the last time i saw him????

Very nice, too easy drill sergeant.

Um, ok, but what about getting the nuts on or off of the plate holding the wheel to the arm?? Are you going to lay flat on your back to undo them and let it fall on you to get it off? And bench press it up to get it back on?
Dammit, brain fart. That's where the winch thingy comes in to play. Nevermind my previous post. Please move along, nothing to see here. :D
