I do not mind manual but the auto from a 5.0 explorer is a pretty strong trans... So I think I am going to stick with and auto on that part

lookin good kris

Well it looks as thou I will be doing the 5.0 swap sooner then I expected.

The awesome rebuilt rebuilt transmission I got locked up in 4th gear after 6000 miles of use.

As Always, your work is incredilbe!

Very nice truck Kris. It looks like you did a great job on painting that beast.

Nothing to see here, move along now, move along :shifty_ey

Hmm, i wonder what I will be doing to JPX soon...:D

Ok, well work finally commenced on the heart transplant of JPX. First thing first is to get Guilbeaux out of the engine bay! Silly Kris!

First we removed all the normal stuff as usual (Driveshafts, transfer case, transmission, crossmembers, etc)

Then it was time for the motor. While kris was off doing god knows what and left me to do all the work (:D) I disconnected all the motor stuff and popped it loose from the motor mounts. Then up and out she came!

The main reason for this swap was this culprit...A bad M5OD. After looking inside, it was determined that a syncro had failed and wouldnt allow the forward fork to engage. So off to core heaven this thing will go!

And there you have it! Now work can commence on me building the wiring harness for this beast and getting motor mounts for the 5.0

Side Note: Where do you put a spare 4.0 OHV when you have no room in the garage? In the StoraHoe of course!

That store-a-hoe comes in handy.

You Guys could sell one to the secret service...

Looking like another great build to watch! As already stated, that paintwork looks stellar Kris!

So some news on JPX. After the 5.0 swap and moab, we were invited to display JPX at the Austin Symphony Orchestra's concert of John Williams. So excitedly we said yes!
