Let's see, what can I powdercoat today?

Yeah im still not sure how im going to do that.....

I have access to a digital scale. I think ill use film canansers and mix it on a percentage basis from there.

yes-percentage is good--

Jon i erased (by mistake) about the temp for the powder to bake in. I may crank up the oven here in a few and put five dimes or something in there.

to get it to flow, try 350 for 10 minutes
that should do it-you don't need a good cure-just a good flow.

it is going to be much more vivid-and a little darker when it has "flowed out"

errrr-melted.

Harbor Freight sells a similar compressor like the one you have: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93274. I saw it in a Harbor Freight outlet store for $799.

Well, another part has bit me--

I was trying to do 2 colors on MadMike783's intake cover.

It had been polished---:thumbdwn:

I swear I coated this thing 8 times, baked and blasted off each coating due to evaporative bubbles under the coating. It is a beeeatch to get this stuff off--

anyway--I was able to get a good chrome layer by heating-washing-heating-washing-heating to 450,, then spray when hot.
I masked the 5.0 V8 part off again, and the chrome powder bubbled under the black. (still releasing something???).
Now, I just noticed it is warped a bit-
Is it from the repeated heating, or was it bent when it was polished?

I don't know-all I know is I'm buying a new intake cover.:(

Sorry to hear that. Does filing count, I filed on mine for quite a while, finishing with a medium sand paper and water. I have one untouched which I'll be sending you also with one intake set.

I hope it is an issue with polishing compunds-
I thought it might be the powder itself-but I tried a brand new batch with the very same performance. I've seen these unexplained type issues on the powder forums before. Some parts just will not bake smooth, while an identical one will.

quick question not sure if i has been asked...can u powder coat exhaust systems?
Ooops
I missed this--sorry
I am currently working on a source for "JET HOT" ceramic-
However-4 oz cost me 40.00 plus shipping-enough for a set of shorty headers-inside and out. It "should" be enough for a single exhaust and y pipe-
I'm going to find out.
This I can pre cure at 600 degrees-then you do a final cure by heating the exhaust and letting car sit for 6 hours---so it can slowly cool.

On a side note--

SCORE!!!!!!
I know for a fact I can sell this locally for 350 bux when I am finished

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...0156484019&category0=&fvi=1&item=160156484019

I also have a set of FE valve covers for him--:D

Nice, that is a good street intake. Mirror chrome?

Well Don,Yes
Ford FE intake manifold in single stage chrome!
I needed to raise some quick cash--since this is sold, well--

3 and 4 are cured-with and without flash

when it cools i'll get a sunlit picture-it is supposed to have green iridescence in light

It really looks different on the switch plate....Humm

The fourth pic in post 235 looks the closest but is not that close.

Lit by nature only-and cured sample on uncured powder--

this color is weird--
next to something yellow, it looks green.
From across the room it looks greenish-
next to something green, it looks yellow.

To be honest-I think it needs more green mixed in--
