you could powder coat a whole explorer with that one powder coat paint would be sweet

Friend of mine has a powder coating buisness here in NC, his booth is like 30' long 15' wide 10' high, all numbers are guess from me. It is one of the largest in the state, has a slick over head conveyer(sp) system that runs on a track using a chain. Has hooks hanging down to put the parts on or racks for the big items. He does car frames all the time. It is a neat system. I showed him the powder coating that changes color. I like that one.

sorry the pic took so long.
safari bar powder coated mirror black. great work jon.

Eric (techieman33) and his brother Phillip came down to help out with all of Phillip's Dakota parts. They did all of the blasting between them. That was such a help--it kept things rolling quite well.

We did the axle housing-cover, brakes and drums, drive shaft,
control arms, individual leafs, brackets, u bolts and bed rails. I know I am missing a few parts in the list, but here are the pics-

Colors are Powder buy the pound's Smoked chrome and Mirror black. The red is good ol Harbor Frieght red.

Nice parts, I've wished to be able to yank my rearend apart to do the welding and coat it.

Funky tool box.

I love the stuff you continue to do there jonny. If I make it down this summer, I want my entire Eddie powdercoated. ;)

Keep up the great work. This thread rules.

Hey jon, I got another one of these:

I bet it would look good with a good powdercoat. Whattya think? :D

Man Jon, if only you were closer. I need to pull off my safari bar, mounts, and step bars. The damn salt winters have destroyed the finish where they attach to the frame.

It's not a bad road trip. Plus he'll let you play with his toys! :D:thumbsup:

You could ask around the forum, I'm sure other people between you and him have stuff you could pick up along the way/drop off on the way back and collect some gas money for doing it.

I'm planning to work on my wife to see if she minds me sneaking away from a family visit to Wisconsin this summer to go down to Kansas for a few days. :D

Jon:

Your pics of the toolbox got me thinking of something near and dear to my heart. My 2000 Rocky Mountain Instinct (mountainbike) is powdercoated. I call the colour scheme "rainbow trout". The pic below gives you an idea. It is much more vivid in sunlight.

Damn jonny. I like. The 'Explorer V8' plate I just got is part of a bigger plan that looks a lot like that!
