Looks good! You guys really went to town.
Thanks. All told, we did the following:
-Upper intake, elbow, air intake tube, battery box cover, in smoked chrome.
-"Explorer V8" plaque in smoked chrome and red.
-valve covers and oil filler tube in red
-Street Scenes Speed Grille, C&L MAF body (not pictured), smoked chrome of course.
Jon does great work. Was fun to see it up close and personal.

OK,
I have a new color called "Black chrome". Now I am so confused because most "Black chromes" are a clear powder meant for a topcoat to real chrome.
This single stage gives almost the same effect. I used it on the raised letters with wrinkle black for the main body. Yes, the oil fill hole is still masked--Forgot to remove the tape before the pics.

What kinds of materials can you put the PC onto? My side mirrors(91 Lincoln Mark VII) look like three different materials. The part near the door may be a plastic, and the ring around the outside could also be a type of hard plastic. It's cheap stuff in any case, all faded, but structurally sound. I need to see what it takes to gut them.

Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. I would like an experimental unit.

I wish I had kept one of my broken mirrors then. I never imagined that I would be considering powder coat for them. Let me send you a few pictures of them first. I just got the two windows working again, and washed it.
If you can do something with them, I can borrow mirrors from my friend while it's painted. I'm about to start stripping the trim parts off of it.

From the Ford Factory 1991-1997 (the only ones I have personally taken apart) The part that bolts to the door is a type of metal...I don't know WHAT type it is...but it IS metal...

I had asked Jon about doing the black mirrors of my Mark VII before, and just not go to driving it again. My LSC Special Edition has little to no chrome, and the mirrors are all black and faded. The main parts seem to be a pot metal or aluminum. There is a hard trim around the edge of the glass area that may or may not be plastic.
This below is of my first SE model, the way it's supposed to look.

I believe it is aluminum. It seems pretty similar to aluminum when you drill though it anyway.
Also, I can't wait to see my wheels powder coated this weekend.
