Oh the atlas. I knew about the atlas but was thinking about the rig....

Brain fart

Ok, I see the picture now. Mike wants to buy the CNG explorer for 1500 bucks, but now I want it.

Well lol thats why i sent you a message about the cng explorer seeing if you was the one that had it. I dont really want to give that much for it

I don't either. But you met jim, so now that you know that it's a million bajillion mile motor, doesn't that change your mind?

Ill give a million for a engine that does not wear a bit haha

Dang boys. Time has flew tonight. Ill be back to this thread tomm.

I need to make a decsion. I got a 4dr 1gen waiting but if i can get the 01 for cheap ill have him hold it

so, what's the deal with the first gen? stocker shell?

you should stretch to 130 and run 47" LTB's to compensate for the long wheelbase.

Get the 4 door so you can haul 4 people easier. Use the rear steer to make up for the extra length.

Thats really my only hold up on the whole thing!!!!

I want four but not sure about it yet lol

I'm not trying to hyjack your thread, but I saw something not long ago that I have been thinking abought every since. ( I know its not an Ex.). I wish i had saved the link. Someone had built a buggy with a FWD engin and tranny turned 90 degrees, mid engin, and used the cv shafts to run the axles I think they were 60s. It was extreamly low with crazy articulation. Humm what to do with the Northstar in the shop.

You could have your desired wheelbase of <120 with a 4 door, and run the big tires. Just cut what you need. Winter is going to run 40s and the rear is moved back 5-7" and the front is only like 1-2" forward. I think you should get the 4 door. :)

DB_1's extra cab ranger is at 125 which seems long when we're all together since it's 12-13" longer than an explorer, but with 42s I think 118 - 123 would be good.

This is what i want it to look like in the front.

Should i just build a buggy???

Yes. You are gonna build a buggy either way, it would just make this whole process easier if you admit it now...

I would built a Formula Toy style buggy.

I think an 01' sport would look so badass sitting on rockwells, if the body was left alone for the most part, if the dove-tailing up front came out real clean but since it seems like you are after more of a truggy type rig I would have to say that I think a 1gen would be the better choice...Just seems easier to turn it into what you are looking for
