DR, any pics yet? What's the deal on your vehicle? How's everything? Are you going to Trabuco (schedule not set yet)? I gotta run, be back.

No other pics yet...I'll try and get some uploaded...been real busy with the whole moving thing and the place im stayin right now is temporary so all my stuff is packed away and i dont have internet at home. But im borrowing a friends wireless aircard right now

The Ex is drivin great though. I did put the springlox on the rear to level it out a little and those make the ride considerably stiffer...i do want to order the rear coils eventually. my tail lights look great  my exhaust sounds good, got the front windows tinted as well. I put the loadwarrior basket on it and it's just a tad noisy with the sunroof open so i took it off. it looked cool though but i never use it so eh. Ill probably sell it.

And whats this Trabuco? I dont know anything about it.

DietRockstar, after getting the springs for up front, getting them installed, and the new struts, what did you pay (if you don't mind me asking)? Also, you said you were going to get 1.5'' springs for the rear, will that level it out or make the back sit higher? I want to do 3 in front, and if it keeps it level, 1 in the back.

Well maybe I'm jumping the gun here but I would love some input...I got my front springs in today and they measure 14.5" tall. The factory springs even though I know they are compressed a bit from being mounted are 8.5" tall. This seems to be a huge difference. I'm not sure how this would ever fit. Have any of you measured your springs when they first came in? By the way I asked for 2.5" springs. What do you guys think?

its an illusion i promise... when u take ur stock spring off and its decompressed, ull see that they are almost identical in size... the only difference is the size of the coils... the stiffer springs have much thicker coils

Aha so they wont compress as much. And that really hasn't changed your ride quality much?

u got it brother:thumbsup:... just an increased resistance

my ride quality hasnt changed much for the most part... it was crappy to being with so im used to it being a little harsh... i dont think the springs do much to affect that... if u want the extra height, just go for it... ull love the look

did anyone ever come to a conclusion about whether the 3" lift is OK. Ive read this whole thread a couple times and some people say it would affect suspension. Im not as concerned with ride quality and gas mileage as i am the life of the suspension/car. Im looking for a 3" lift in the front and 2" in the back on an 03 mounty. Just looking for someone to give me the green light and then pics will be up as soon as i get em.

a 3'' lift would be just fine... it wouldnt really tear up anything it just mite be a rougher ride... a dude on here did it but i forget his name

as for 285s, the dude that did it also had 1.25'' wheel spacers... without the wheel spacers the tire would rub against the upper part of the spindle... he said he would repost once he added the springs

yeah i know i could do the spacers ..i was talking about as far as hitting bumps/ turning goes

I did the 3" coils up front and I have no problems whatsoever. It actually rides better but I did have new gas struts installed at the same time. 3" front and 2" rear would probably be perfect. Do it.

And after doing the coils my 265/75's rubbed still but I did a little trimming of the fenders with a rotary tool and its not even noticeable. I also screwd a spacer between the fender and the wheel well housing to push it out more because there was rubbing there too but not anymore. Keep in mind my 16x8 wheels have 4" backspacing which is slightly negative offset so it pushes the tires out more which probably caused the rubbing. But no more rubbing!

So, in case you don't know... QL is not for every Ex. There are restrictions... I don't know, but Bigapple, are there restrictions for people who's Exs can't support the QL system? Can coilsprings still be used on AWD Exs? Thanks... We want ever 3rd gen that wants a lift to have an option :)

what is QL? haha... im pretty sure it would be fine... the only way u would need extended driveshafts would be if the entire spindle was to move but it doesnt... all thats being done is a swap of a spring with greater compression

EDIT: just realized QL is quick lift... the quick lift mite have different effects cuz the strut mite be longer... theres a chance of different performance as opposed to the coil springs

The good thing is pretty much all 3rd gens are covered... this is a good thing! What do you think about 2.75 front/2.25 rear? I have 1.5" on both ends... Or should I just do the 3" and let it be? Thanks!

3.0" front, 3.0" rear, and we'll adjust the rear down so it won't be so high - so about 2.5" rear.
