Solved Lifts and Max tire sizes

Prefix for threads that contain problems that have been resolved, and there is an answer within the thread.
reminds me

I was on my way into school one morning and all the roads were clear except for the onramp to the highway  it goes straght then curves to the left, well I went accelerating round the corner in 2X and my backend broadsided, went back and forth like an "s" shape and eventually slamed into a guard rail and crunched front end. Drove to school with my bumper completely rubbing on the tire. The auto department at school popped the bumper out for me. Finally fixed the damage and the price tag came to $300. All that for my irresponsibility, I share your pain dude.

I am getting 31x10.50x15 pro comp xterrains on my ford explorer sport 1999. Do yall think that would look good? I have the stock suspension. I have no lift. I really dont want to get a lift. Please let me know what you think. Your opinion will really be helpful to me. Thanks.

97 sport 16 inch rin

255/70r16 on it now

biggest tire that will fit stock suspension?

3 inch body lift, 2 inch tt, 3 inch shackles...running 33x12.5x15 Cooper Discovery A/T no scrubbing any where...runs great also

I have a 92' and on it i have a 3in body with 31x12.5 LTB SS. and its runs nice and well do what i need. Thanks

if i replace all 4 of my tires and keep the stock size spare, if i should so happen to get a flat im assuming the small tire should go on the front since its rwd?

ill be replacing my 4 tires with 31" tires

It would be best to not run it in the rear, especially if you have a limited slip diff., that'd tear up the clutch-pack. It'd be better to get a 31 spare. You could get a used one pretty cheep if you hunt a bit.

couldnt tell you if i had an lsd in this or not lol

its an 01 sport 4x4 (not full time)

plan on finding a 31" spare just in the process of calling around but until then... :)

tnx

Ok I read through this post and searched and still can't seem to find what people are running for back space. I figured it would be in here, but lets see if anyone knows. The stocks are like 4" I think. Eventually I'm going to have the 3" bl, 5" RCD, what back spacing will help the fitment of 35"/ 12.50", also what about wheel spacers?

Any body?

When you go to get your new tires just ask for a spare 31" Alot of times they will just give it to you. It will save them on having to dispose of it. It most likely would not pass inspection, but would be good enough for you to limp home on if you needed it.
Just a thought,
Nick Good

33x12.5x15 cooper discovery A/T fit perfect will lots of room still...i have a 1997 Mercury mountaineer with 2 inch TT,3 inch shackles,3 inch body lift

i have a 00 sport and wanna run a 36" x 12.50 x 15 and im putting a 4 in suspension and a 3 in body, and i ask some people on the site if i could o it but they said i needed some more lift, and i was wondering where the rest of my lift can come from to fit those bad boys, i looked at the chart and it didnt say for that size, how come i can fit a 35" x 12.50 but not a 36" x 12.50 help me out because once i know what i need ims start buying my parts

the ford8.8 can handle 35s@300horsepower i dont think you need no 6 inch lift 4 33s

the ford explorer will tip over degrees sooner than a ranger speaking about side to side body roll- the bigger the lift the more top heavy you are-

I would do some body work- cut out fenders(if you have long travel get fiberglass) and dull sharp edges

anyone know biggest tire that will fit a stock 98 explorer sport with 16 ince rims?

265/70/16, which is a 31x10.5

ok guys, i am new here and have read all of these reply's. my question is on my '00 sport, the rear seems to set at least 1 1/2" if not 2" lower than the front. a year ago, i ditched it in a blizzard and the idiot tow truck driver drug it out by the driver side torsion bar, which broke and had to be replaced(according to insurance picked repair shop) is it possible they did the tt for me and i just need shackles or 4door leafs in the rear? i would love to put 31x10.5's on and get rid of the butt ugly 16's everyone else is running.

35's?

6inch lift will clear 35x12.50 without rubbing the sheetmetal the inner plastic fenders will rub under compression while turning my brother's ranger with a 302 in it did,nt rub with 35x12.50 with 6in suspension but we put a 3 inch body lift on it a few weeks later

I've got a '00 4dr 2wd. Installing 3" spindle, tt, aal, shackle, and Hannemann
glass up front with 33x12.5's on a 15x8 (3 3/4 bs). Want to be safe because I do go wheelin', but just curious? Can I squeeze in 35's, or would I be pushing it? I'm 90% sure the front will fit, but the rear? Thanx.

answered my own question

Today I installed my 4"x3" glass, warrior shackles, and did a 2" tt. My 33" BFG mt's fit great, and won't even consider 35's. Luckily my spindle/aal kit didn't get delivered. Now I can cancel the order and save my $$ for the Camburg kit that I REALLY want.

"THANK YOU WARRIOR!"
