As stated, every truck is different but 31s should fit on a stock suspension. As long as there isn't any big amount of suspenion wear (ie a lot of miles on the vehicle)

ok weird question i just got another explorer with a great body but needs engine work so for now i took the 31x10.50s of my new one and put on my 1991 and it rubs horribly but one the 1992 theres room to spare i dont think the 1992's lifted but it has enoff room extra i might be able to get 32 but im happy with the 31s but hows come the 1991 rubs with the 31s?

Hey i have a 1997 mountainer with a TT and add a leaf and was wondering if i could fit 32x11.50 on it with 15 x 7 stock rims or 31x11.50x15 on stock rims, which one would be better? Thanks for any help

I'd go with the 32x11.5

would those fit on15x7 rims and with no trimming?

Usually you have to trim the plastic fender flare, but your Mounty probably doesn't have them.

What Does anyone think of this? I have a 98 5.0 awd. I am going to use the 3"body lift, TT and the shackles. I am wanting to run 265/75r16. It is 31.7x10.5 on a 16x8. Or 285/75r16 which is 32.8x11.3 on a 16x8 rim. Does anyone think it will work. I plan on either Toyo A/T or a new set of Bridgestone Dueler Revos. Or go a set of Destination M/T?

the 265 will look small, and the 285 will fit with no problems

anyone have any info for the newe explorers? 02-05, 06?

check out the 'General A/T' (grabber) tire. in my opinion they're a cross between BFG A/T's & ProComp A/T's, but with a beefier sidewall. my best friend has 33x12.50x15 on his truck and have seen him in dirt & mud which he did GREAT in. also, i heard tales of his last snow trips and how well they worked as well.

As far as 32s are concerned I like the 32x11.5x15 BF Goodrich All Terrain TA/KO. I haven't looked into 31s, what tires do you recomend comperable to the BFG's?

if i have a 3inch boyd on a 98 ..how much will i have to cut with my 33-12.50-15

im doing a tt and War153 shackles. i have a 98 xlt. i know 31's are fine but can i get 32's without rubbing. any 1 with a 98 xlt trim have this setup and was there any rubbing?

thanks but i think hes got a 95 tho, the fender or trim is probally a couple inches different= a lil to much rubbing

? i got 32x11.50s to fit a stock explorer 1991 no rubbing on right side but minor on left can i trim them to fit in the front and will the hit the backfeneder if the wheel flexes i was afrid to try i dont car about triming this is going to be my off road fun truck anyway i just cant aford a lift right now

Left side rubs when turn

the bottom rocker needs cut anyway but i think the tires look cool on this truck

What about 16" rims

Hi, I have a 98 explorer sport (tt and shackles) and it has 16's on it. The chart doesn't list any 16 inch rims. Also can somebody tell me what the differens is in the tire sizes. For example my tire size now is 255/70/16, the chart writes the sizes like 32x11.5x15. What's the difference? What would thie chart sizes be equaled to.

The wheels don't make a differance of what size tire will fit on your truck.

A 255/70/16 is a 30.1x10" tire on a 16" wheel.
The other is exactly what is says, 32x11.5" on a 15" wheel.

Thanks Froader. When I look for tire size 32x11.5x16 nothing comes up but when i do 32x11.5x15 lots come up. Can you please tell me how 255/70/16 is equal to 30.1x10? Is there a formula? Thanks
