Argh. . .and here us LA guys are planning a run to Last Chance Canyon (Mojave).

Oh well, 3 hrs is too far for a day trip.

It is? hahaha dont tell my truck that!

Jamie!

Why don't you guys just come up and wheel with us?

Both me and Jefe would love to have you! Besides it looks like we're on;y gonna be two trucks so far:(

we could delay are run for a couple hrs. till you guys get up here. :D

It was great! we did some great trails, some pretty heavy stuff, and since it was mostly just the two of us we made great time all over that place.

I:

dropped off a nice rock wall and dropped her right on the front frame horns. The front bumper twisted up and sheared the factory front bumper bolts.
1 bolt held the bumper on until home. Fog lights and liscense plate made it home in the cargo area.

My tranny blew 2 miles from home, forward clutch is toasted. New one is being built as we speak by Transwerks, will replace next week.

Working on pictures, Bill's friend Dave rode with him and got some pics, they need to be re-sized.

Glad you were able to make it home at least Jaime:D

So whats the word on that place shutting down, or is it?
There was a thread a few months back saying they were
gonna close down, just wondered if you guys heard anything about it.

I wish I could've made it out there with you guys cause I hate to miss a Los Coyotes run but I tore down the front end last weekend so I'm knee deep into my suspension redo. I'm using 4.5 Cherokee coils and suprisingly enough, they fit like a glove in the stock buckets as well as the retainers on the bottom and although they are longer than the 6" coils I ran before the XJ coils compress to within a 1/4" of the Skyjackers.
The XJ coils feel really soft though, might be good for the trails but street driving might have to much body roll so I may try increasing the pressure in the new Bilsteins I got...i'll have to start a thread on it and keep ya posted.

Dave, what about fabricating a sway bar for those soft springs??

Glad to see you are making progress, you will get that sucker to flex eventually.

I dont BLAME them for wanting to shut it down, we came across some bozos in some stock Jeeps that had gotten a flat tire because they ran right over that car chasis that sticks out of the ground, well they were throwing there beer cans all over the place with absoletely no regard for treading lightly! A**holes have no place on any trails...

I was nice enough to haul their trash outta there, hopefully with efforts like ours we can keep our trails open. A few bad apples coulr ruin the whole bunch.....

I took a long hard look at El Hill and decided "no way" I think it is "climbable" (word?) but I would prefer to try it after a roll cage and a winch waiting up top....

I may try one of Currie's tortion style sway bars now that they make them in different widths other than just for jeeps.

On the tread lightly note...we noticed the same stupitidy
saturday night at TDS. Most of the bystanders as well as some drivers were probably sloshed and just chucked their cans everywhere...not cool:mad: How hard is it to pick up your trash and throw it in your truck, jeep or whatever you are driving?

Not hard at all. I am gonna start taking pictures of the offenders and their trash and post them all over the net....

I decided the "few bad apples" need to have their pictures posted on all the forums, we cant get enough awareness out there for them to stop doing it, I can only pick up so much of their trash and haul it off the trail for them, so maybe some public humiliation amongst their peers will get them to stop.

PACK IT IN PACK IT OUT

Wimp I did it in my truck. That was when I was open front and a stock limited slip in the rear and on 31"s. Did it once. Gave it a few small trys on later runs but I did it once so didnt have to prove it to my self again. :D I dont think the climb is that bad as long as you get the right line, but if you dont then the cost and be pretty high in the mistake. Wish I could have made it out there maybe next time.

Matt
