Not to hijack this hijack, but a 285 spare fits under the truck with a little modification of the forward bracket. I have one there now.

Thanks  I had forgotten that a BFH and some persuasion :D on that bracket will allow some more room.

I'll probably be around friday, maybe do a ride along if y'all are gonna be doing some harder stuff.

Jstrider are ya willing to use a video camera (and able)???

yah, you provide the camera, tapes, batteries and a seat for my girl and I and filming is no problem.

I even took a couple video productions classes in highschool... so I should know which way to point the camera! :p

Looks like you'll be riding with me my friend.

From what I can tell strike ravine seems like it will be decent but no big challenges (a slightly modified vehicle could most likely do it). However Minor threat and green day will be different, that will be camera time...

Msupertek are you bringing your family or bacheloring this trip?

I am hesitant to post this because I do have a pending sale on the truck, but if I still have my truck for Moab, I will be glad to lead a Golden Spike (or any other trail I know) run on Saturday. Just posting to get one of the 'standard' trails mentioned.

BFE sounds fun for friday.

Gjarrett I am bringing the wife only. Her cousing wanted to come but has some things he and his wife can't get out of so its just me and the wife. In laws are watching the three kido's.

Jefe I was actually wanting to run Golden Spike and Poison Spider Mesa either saturday or sunday. So I'd be in for a run to it. I was waiting to see what rick was going to throw up. I would also like to try Moab Rim and Elephant Hill if possible.

B.F.E. strike ravine, minor threat, and possibly greend day as long as there is enought time....

I am up to specs, I may be able to be there by that time- would there be room for one more?

I'll be at the City Market Friday about 9:00am.

Gerald I'm up for whatever you do on Friday. Would like to check out the dino tracks though.:D

Hey Brian, can you be there Friday so we can do the dino tracks trail that day and have Tom join us? Now that Jefe has joined in and suggested Golden Spike or another more "interesting" trail on Saturday I'm really thinking about avoiding TOTW if I can get Ashli's son Ivan to forget about it and go hit a more difficult trail instead of TOTW for the umpteenth time. However that IS where we got married and I understand why Ivan wants to see it.

It's beginning to look like I won't have a clue what to do until I arrive, LOL. but the neat thing is that it always seems to work out once we get there

To reply to the thread hijack, I strongly agree that a fullsize spare is highly recommended [and essential if you have a locker]. However I did manage without one during an offroad trip several years ago right after I had gone to 33" tires and still had not gotten a full size spare. I got a flat on the front tire and drove home 120 miles with a 33" tire on my left front and a 31" tire on my right front. I stayed under 50 mph and was aware that my front diffy was thinking that I was in a continual turn, but I did make it home.

Obviously that's not recommended but as long as you have open diffs it can be done in a pinch and your vehicle will probably survive. With limited slip or locker don't even think about it.

No, I wont get to town untill around 2 earliest on Friday. Go ahead if you want to, its no biggie since I have done it before.

I want to meet up Friday morning to do some trails so count me in. It looks like I am only trail rated a 2 though. Will BFE be to much for my ST? Or is the Dino tracks what everyone is doing? I am arriving Thursday night staying at the Super 8.

At B.F.E. I believe from what I have seen and read that Strike Ravine is definitely doable for a Explorer with 33 inch tires and some minor type lift kit.
So according to your signature yes I don't think you'll have any problem, if there is a slight bluff or what not that you can't get over I'm sure I can assist you.

As far as the other two short extensions which are green day and minor threat I do not believe anyone with less then 33's and lockers front and rear can do them. I have not seen the trails but from what I have researched I believe that would be the case. I figure once we are there we can walk down green day and minor threat after strike ravine has been completed and
determine who can and who can't make it.:us: :D

So far then it looks like B.F.E. Strike Ravine
Msupertek
Mudduck
DB_1
Positive Vibes
410Fortune
Mountain Green
Tilt168 (maybe)
Jefe (?)
Chad551
moabB2

Minor Threat & Greenday
Msupertek
Mudduck
DB_1
410Fortune
Jefe(?)

Mountain Green (I was wondering what size tire are you running and what kind of lift do you have? Do you have a locker front or rear?)
There is always enough room for another truck:D

One good thing I have heard about strike ravine (its the main road basically leading to all the hardcore trails but has obsticles of its own so it is not easy) is that people who have ran it say nearly all the obsticles have by-passes on that road so if you want to go around the obsticles you can.

Count me and my Father in for Strike Ravine. I doubt we'll be up for green day or minor threat.

I'm open front and rear, on 35's.

My dad is locked front and rear on 33's.
