2025 is only 29 years. 1996 is the first year we started talking Explorers on what would become Explorer Forum.
I have been working on updates to the Pumpkin. Not exactly sure how far I'm going with it yet. Saying that it's tired is an understatement. I've kept up the drivetrain, but everything else is really showing it's age.
My Beard seats are shot. I have a set of Mastercraft that will be going in. I will be replacing the harnesses at the same time. The canvas tool bags that I use for all the spare parts, tools, welder, etc. are ripping like tissue. The handles pulled right off the bags when I pulled them out of the truck.
I haven't been happy with the brakes for quite some time, but I am hoping my current setup will be a winner. I am trying a Jegs electric boosted master cylinder. Basically electric hydroboost, but instead of using an engine driven pump, it uses an electric pump. The greatest benefit of this is that when the engine stalls on a steep hill/obstacle I will still have full boosted braking power even with the engine off.

The new brake setup would have really come in handy here. Engine stalled and I couldn't restart it. The truck was trying to roll backwards with me pressing on the brake for all I was worth. Leg shaking by the time the guys got a strap on it. As it was rolling backwards the steering was turning to the right which was making things even worse. This is a deep bowl and it would have been a hell of a drop to the right, and then a slide to the bottom.
Thanks for the strap Brian and Matt!
I have lots of ideas about different directions to take the Pumpkin, but just haven't been able to decide which way to go yet.
