it is a 4x4 xlt 4 door i want to run 33's on it with a 4 inch lift and i want to switch to manual hubs

Well there you go, you just listed what you should do. :)

To your list add:

1. wheels with 3.75 backspacing (for clearance issues)
2. 4.56 gears, front and rear (will be fine on the road and even better in the dirt)
3. lockers front and rear (obvious reasons)

and you'll be able to go just about anywhere.

Lift options are:

3" body lift, f-150 coil seat and shackles
Trail Master
Superlift
James Duff
and a couple more.

thank you how much do you think that would cost?

Your best bet for doing this on a budget is getting a used lift, which is easy to find on the For Sale forum, those doing a solid axle conversion usually sell off their original lift for project $$$. You can probably get the 4.56 gears and even the wheels w/33" tires this way too. Do like suggested above, buy what you'll need when it comes up and as you have the dough, then when you have all the parts, build it.

"pretty much unstoppable im on a budget"

That's not going to happen. You will have to spend some $ to get it reliable.

I'd 1st start off getting it in top running shape. Then mod it 1 thing at a time/over time.

I remember reading the rule of thumb about car mods somewhere...

Fast, cheap, reliable: Pick two.

Same applies here... take your time and do it right. I'm trying to work on mine too, but I'm still trying to get it in decent running condition before I put too much money into it.

2" skyjacker coils 200$
" "shocks 149$
" "steering stablixer 60$
warr shackles. 60$
3paa body lift 100$
33" buckshots 706.56$
and alignment.
warn manual locking hubs/spinndle nut conversion kit 250$
1625.56 give a little take a little.
you wont need gear's right away the x will hold those 33's just fine.if they do grenade pick up some diffrent ones from a j/y.

i did a 3inch bl on my bII and was able to stuff 33's.on stock x rims.

I knew someone was going to say this and it depends on the stock gears, but either way this is bad advice. It's not the gears that are getting hurt, it's the already weak trans that heats up to turn the bigger tires...

I'm still curious what your budget is?

V8 conversion
Coil sprung SAS swap
9in rear swap
5.13 gears
38.5 in boggers
Supercharger for the V8
Custom front and rear tube bumpers with winches and tire carrier:cool:

I'd love to get front leaf springs... if I ever get around to doing a SAS, that's what I'm going with...

my budget is about 3000

if you have 3grand..your not gunna make anything unstoppable..well not an explorer anyway..but this is how i spent 3k..after being on the forum for quite sometime and plenty research..

$ 500- 35 bfg mud kings (new)
$ 250- wheels to wrap em with (new)
$ 85- 3in PA body lift shipped i installed it.. (found on forum in box unused)
$ 1437- 4.56s installed (new)
$the remainder giv or take- 4in superlift (new) i installed it..

but you could find a used lift and install it for cheaper and make your 3k mark...now that will make you fairly unstoppable..and believe me..that one pretty badass ex.. the other 2k i hav into it tho...thats wher it really starts to get fun :)

-wheel on-

body lift, 33" bfg muds and f/r lockers, put the other money into trans maint. and a aftermarket cooler.

i will sell you my X for three grand...;)
