Mustangs?

I have a 99 mounty with a 5.0. Was wondering if I could swap out the ecu for a mustang unit to give it a little bit more pep. Also I don't see why I couldn't get it to sound like a mustang. Would i need a certain type of exhuast system?

You'd have to swap a bunch of other stuff. Your explorer doesn't have a distributor. The mustang would look for it. The ECM has nothing to do with how your motor sounds though.

forget the mustang, you have an explorer. It is best not to try to make it something it will never be.

For the best exhaust you have one option. Torquemonster headers, with a 2 into one and 3" tailpipe.

Dual exhaust is not a safe option for these. IMHO

Oh, and the PCM in these is better than any 5.0 Mustang pcm ever thought of being.
