Wow Bill you ARE old....hahaha! I was 8 when the 70's were over. :) Just kidding man...

I wonder why BRETT hasn't posted in this thread?????

He has a "few" old Mustang Projects....one of them is very very nice IMO, I would post a picture of it, but we'll let Brett decide...

Something about an old fast back with gobs of HP that really gets the blood pumpin...

I wont even start on the 05, I though that car was the ultimate, then they anounce the GT...two things which I may very well never ever have....
darnit!!

This is ssooo up my alley. My first was a mistake by my dad. '85 gt, T-Tops, power everything, Dual snorkle 302. I loved that car. Then was the '79 I-6 that i basically used as a parts car. After that was my next baby my '89 notch. The car was basic, (only pwer windows and door locks). That thing was fast. I loved coming off entrance ramps and picking what car I wanted to be in front of. Trst me I miss it but without selling it I wouldn't have bought our first Explorer and found this AWESOME site! (I could use an elite explorer status for that one Rick:D )
But I digress. I will have another one by next year. Or at least the wife has promised we will be able to afford one by then. (I love my wife):)

Well, you can say there a "few" horses around my "stables":D

i've never owned one, but i would i prob will, cause come on, for the money they are one of the funniest cars u can buy with good power. especially the new cobra's OMG, in a heart beat if i was out of school with a job, always been around people who had them though, currently am helping my friend make his 99GT faster, so it will stop getting beat by the new Neon SRT-4's, ouch that hurts so bad.

My 88' Saleen Clone miss it like hell....

Hmm I love ponies!!!!

My first Mustang project was myu mom's '72 Mach I. She bought it off the showroom floor in 1971, and drove it every day since. It finally hit 100,000 in the early '90's and she was going to sell it. My cousin and I convinced her to give us 5k to rebuild and restore. A few months later her 351 clevland was putting out 350 horses, and the in and out looked like it had just pulled off the showroom floor. The sad thing was she only let me drive it once to test out the new motor.

My next car was a '85 LX mustang with a six cylinder, My sister-in-law still drives it and has only done minor repairs.

Then there was the year with the escort and then my next mustang.
1988 Mustang LX coupe Police Interceptor. The original Police 5.0 made it about a year before I decided to replace it with a 5.8 out of a totaled 94 or 95 Cobra R. The engine stock was a runner, but a couple thousand later and I almost lost my drivers license several times. I was still living at home, and my parents pressured me into selling it and buying an economy car (95 vw Golf with the VR6 :D )

The VW was a great car, just got beat to death on the forest service roads, so I bought the X.

I am currently debating on what the next Mustang will be. Another late 80's 5.0 or a '68 fastback.

Of course the gf says I need to finish the truck first, but that should only take another year anyway, as long as I avoid trying to become a big dog that is.

I'm new to the board we just bought a 2004 XLT Dark Blue Pearl that's the family car. I've had 6 Mustangs but it stops with my present one. A 2001 Mustang BULLITT GT.

When I was young my family owned 5 mustangs in the '60s range. The best and my favorite was the '68 californial special, completely original. My dad lost his job when I was in 5th grade and had to sell them in order to cover bills. I wish I had that car cause he sold it dirt cheap

My first car was an 86 Mercury Capri 5.0 (same as mustang only merc version)
Then a few years later I had a 93 Mustang GT that was two toned deep green teal top and platinum lower. I miss those cars and hopewfully one day I will have another. Next I am planning on a Cobra.

I want to get one eventually. My neighbor has a 98 Cobra, and it is SOOOOOOOO sweet!

Well this is my first mustang 87 GT, not too many mods, that will soon change I'm sure.

My dad, brother, and I are in the process of restoring a '69 Fastback with the Windsor 351 in it. The engine, transmission, and suspension are all done, just body work left to do.
It's SWEET.

My dad had a 66', but as soon as I got old enough to drive he sold it to a friend. I am still mad at him. :fire:

My Explorer replaced this '00 Mustang GT that got lemoned. That lemon was the replacement for another Mustang lemon. :fire:

I still have my '83 GLX though. Its my never ending project.

Had a '69 coupe rustbucket w/302, '70 Mach that I had 75% restored before it was totalled, and a '69 Mach resto that I sold when the $ went toward wife/kids/etc....

Really looking forward to getting an '05 or '06, but looking at building a house, and not sure how much $ will be left for new car.....

We have a '91 LX (5.0 hatchback) that will be for sale soon--need to make room in the garage for a company car (leaning toward a Boxster, but still toying with the idea of a 911...).

i've wanted a late 60's 'stang for as long as i can remember. if we ever get to a comfortable financial point me and a buddy from high school might restore one. last i checked there were like 3 in his uncle's backyard and 2 at his house.

I owned four fully restored mid 60s models last yr for two days along with a 66 427 galexy convertable, my Dad was the founder of the ford galexy club of america.
He passed away, the old Ma said get rid of them:(

I had a '97 for about a year. It was a manual V6, but the previous owner had put on a dual exhaust, spoiler, and I put on some 18" Cobra style rims (to replace the 15" stock rims  ), so all it needed was the GT badging and an engine. :p I gave it up and got my Explorer. But I'm starting to feel the need for speed again. :)
