Costco deals seem to end, then the next month re-appear!

I know, and if I order now I get the better of the deal at the time I order, or the deal at delivery (employee pricing I get regardless).

Costco deal ends at the end of October, and if they restart it in December ALONG with other discounts, then I get those other discounts as well.

(Hope that made sense?)

Yeap. They leave a month or two off in between, so this deal runs to end of October and last year they left off November and restarted in December. Makes some sense to bring it back in Decembers, as December is supposed to be a lower sales season.

i like that color alot....there was a gray limited 302a in the showroom next to the black limited that i bought and it was tough to choose between the two....wife and i both thought the gray looked really nice but we really wanted the pecan interior, which looks better with black in my opinion....

You have to be careful with that Costco discount. Going on past indications, it sees that when Ford does announce that discount it only applies to those who are already members. For example, they may state on Dec. 1st that this promotion is now in force but the fine print would say that you had to have been a Costco member before or on Nov. 1st. You can't just run out and get a membership when they bring the promotion in and have it apply. I was caught in a similar situation where I was too late and the salesman said to go out and get a membership just in case Ford brought the promotion back by the time my Ex was delivered. He offered to pay the cost of the membership if the deal wasn't brought back. I didn't take him up on it and as it turned out, the promotion was not brought back at that time. Besides, I don't shop as Costco.
As for the 2% reduction, that may still be a bit optimistic. alot depends upon the dealer.
I'm not sure why the delivery cost was not charged. At first I thought it may have been an oversight but subsequent paperwork did not include the fee and I didn't question it.
My overall difference between the window sticker price ($51,829) and my contract price was $1985. I don't know if the delivery cost is in there or not. All I know that on the contract there is no cost shown in the space for delivery.
My other discount of $2000 was due to two rebates that were in place.
As for the Winter Wheel Package, they may bring that back but don't think you're getting something for nothing. It may eat into your overall discount or be offered in place of a discount.
I have figured out what my cost will be and for 17" steel rims ($99 ea), 245/65R17 BF Goodrich Winter Slalom KSI tires ($191.79 ea installed/balanced) and TPMS valves ($56.60 ea) it comes to $1390 before tax, and that does not include the base model wheel covers at $41 each.
The lease rate had dropped to 4.99 by the time my Ex was delivered in March. I reduced that to 3.94 by giving them a $6250 refundable deposit which comes back to me at lease end. FYI, the rates did not drop until we were into the new year so I doubt there will be much if any drop in the next few months.
Not sure if that answers all your concerns or not.

Thank you for responding PeterK9!

I was aware of the Costco issue - bought one in June just because of this, and couldn't buy an Ex all summer as there was no promotion.

I'm not sure, but I think 2% for the dealer given the car isn't off their lot/inventory is fair (I know Ford is paying them approx 6%) while employee pricing is on.

The delivery charges bug me, but I'm not sure what to do; maybe you got them off due to it being a lease?

As for the other discounts, I just get whatever happens to be offered in December, but could lose the Costco discount I qualify for now if Costco isn't back on, in exchange.

I believe that you will qualify for the Costco discount if you factory order before the current deal expires on Oct.31st or buy one off the lot by then. The way I read it, this discount is not dependant upon the delivery date if you order from the factory.

You get to choose the better of:

1) the promotion at time of order; or
2) the promotion at the time of delivery

So you're correct that I can get September Costco now, but would have to give up Sept Costco deal if I want the December deal (whatever it might be). Get one or the other, but not both, unfortunately :)

My salesman said I would get the offers in place at the time of the order plus any new incentives at the time of delivery. I qualified for a $1000 Early Order discount which expired by the time the Explorer was delivered. But by then there was a new $1000 incentive. I got both. I'm going to check some old threads that dicussed this. This old mind isn't what it used to be.

Result: I checked a thread that Mishtar started back in Feb. and according to the final outcome, it would appear that the Costco deal can not be combined, but some others can be.

The "legal" on Ford Canada's site says it can be combined, just not with things like government and fleet programs that it specifically lists out. Maybe things changed since Feb?

peterk9,
To check if it’s changed since then, I recommend calling the Canada Customer Relationship Center @ 1-800-565-3673 so an agent can research this to be sure. A big thanks to calb for all the help on this. :)

Congratulations! Awesome color choice, I have the same one on my XLT!

Actually Cory, I'm just trying to help myself on this! :) Thanks to PeterK9 for pointing out potential issues
