First off I have a '00 Sport. The driver's side lock won't unlock. It will start to pop up but only a little bit and then go back into the locked position when I use my remote. And when I try to open it from the inside I have to keep forcefully pulling on the handle until it finally opens. Any ideas on what's causing this? It locks with no problems though.

can anybody help me out before I just start taking my door apart

I had this same issue-
Bear with me-
The outer door handle will wear-or break a spring and not push it's inner lever all the way back up.Since the linkage isn't fully in the "home" position, none of the functions work correctly--door lock, inner handle become jammed-

Go ahead and take your door apart. Replace the inner and outer handle-
The outer handle is attached by 2 1/4" rivets which require a special rivet gun. You could use stainless bolts with nuts and washers in a pinch-

This is a DIY project-although it takes a bit of time and patience. I assume a dealership would really charge quite a bit for it. Plan a day.

thanks for the help. I'm going to try and work on it this weekend. I'll have to use bolts seeing as I don't have a rivet gun to use. I'll post how it ended.
