Darkfox,

Did you go to the same place twice? Even if you didn't, how did it get busted the second time man??

P.S. Look how close I am to two little Explorers! I'm excited!

For my Pictures, i use a Nikon Coolpix 990 camera. Amazing quality. The pics are actual brightness folks...people i have met are still amazed at how bright my purple neons are.

Also Dark Fox...you really saw my explorer on SOund Domain?? Haha..i thought no one knew my explorer at all :)

And with your pictures Dark Fox...try takin them without your headlights on, it might show up better.

ALso, what camera are you using??
Be sure to get a tripod (which it looks like you used one) and have the camera set for slow shutter speed. SHould brighten up the neons.

Carl

uuuuh.. heh, I just used my lil old kodack DC215.. no tripod or nothin.. the lights were on cos I wanted to get a shot of what ppl see in parking lots and all..

I dunno anything about cameras really.. you can probablly tell from the horrible pics on my sounddomain site, I'm not a photographer.. I beleive even if mine was taken with actual brightnes.. you'd still see a huge difference in yours and mine.. next time around.. screw lowglow, streetglow all the way

whatchoo talkin bout fitz?

btw, on the note about breaking tubes.. they are hard to break yes, but if you get your spare tire changed TELL THEM YOU HAVE A TUBE THERE! if you don't.. they will find a way to break it.. I've gone through 2 tubes that way.

Maybe I miss understood, did you get 2 bulbs broken from the spare tire deal, or have you only had one broken (which would be 2, including the new one) Do you see what I mean?

So if you meant you got bulbs broken on 2 separate occasions cuz of the spare tire deal, I was wondering how you would let them break it a second time.

Ok sorry if this doesn't make sense, I just want my 100 posts (=2 little Explorers:))!!

My neons should be here TOMORROW!!! Just in time for the weekend...

Matt

100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 100th post! yayyyy!

Dark FOx...actually, your pictures looked really good! They looked of high quality!

I have a question though....did you replace your front signals with clear bulbs?? Like in my othe rpost, i stated that neons are illegal in illinois (have had mine for 6 months....never had a problem thankfully) and we can't have clear/colored turn signals. Is it legal to have clear turn signals wehre you live??

I hate illi :)

Carl

its not legal to have clears anywhere, but everyone does.. there is no law enforcement about clear front corners or hte color of bulbs in them.. cars here have pink, purple, blue, red, whatever they want in them.. I don't have clear bulbs I have superwhites (superBROWNS) ;) I'd replace em but its $$$ and a pain

fitz, 2 seperate occasions.. the 1st time I told them, the second I forgot to.. it doesn't make sense to me how they can be under my car all the time (I go to these people all the time for repairs) and not know.. especially when they hear *crank* *crank* *crank* *CRACK*.. and then swear they didn't know they broke it.. BS! but w/e.. I have a whole 'nother kit here in this room incase someone else tries something funny under my car :P BUT.. if I break all of those.. which is unlikley, I'll go streetglow

Dude, that sucks about the bulbs being broken!! Twice! Thanks for the heads up, I'll make sure to let them know...

Matt

P.S. Still waiting for those lights....

Hey BmxBoy...

BmxBoy,

What size is the bulb in your grill? Is it just one? That is legal right?? I wanna do that, too!! :)

Matt

Fritz - The bulb is a 30" Street Glow Gold Series bulb (i just added it in the wiring with my purple undebrody kit). It seems like the bulb was made to fit in the front grill of an explorer. It wedges in there with a tight, almost perfect fit.

If you would like to do what i did, but not have an underbody kit (see, the Gold Series bulbs do not have built in transformers, there powered by a 9500v transformer) you can go and buy a 30" Street GLow Blue Series replacement bulb. This has a built in transformer, and is a two wire hookup...in other words, very easy.

Let me know if you get what im saying

Carl

Bmxboy,

I do have a Gold Series underbody kit (at least I will when and if it ever arrives!)

So I should be able to just hook the 30" bulb in with the underbody kit? Would it be easier to just hook it up separately from the underbody kit?

Matt

PERFECT FritzMatt!!! Yah, all you have to do, is wire it in with the rest of your unerbody neons. (Street Glow made it so you can add one extra neon to the Gold Series underbody kit).

You have to wire the entire underbody kit in a paralell (as in...connect all tubes together, and then connect to the transfomer). Its really easy to do! If you every need help on what to do, or how to do it, just tell me!

Carl

bmx which city of chitown do you live in? you a member of noiec

Jas84 - I Live In Glen Ellyn - and no, im not a member of noiec....sadly, i don't even know what that is (i mean, im gussing its a car club, but never heard of it...just getting into this stuff) They have a website? ARe you a member?

Thank Carl. If I add the extra bulb, it will be after the underbody is already in. In that case, would it be easier to add it to the already installed underbody kit or just do it separately (I would rather have a separate switch for the grill bulb)?

So basically how difficult is adding it compared to giving it its own switch. Thanks bro.

Matt

Its really up to you.

If you don't want a switch then just wire it in to your existing Gold Series underbody neons.

If you want a switch (which it seems like you do) then just opt for the 30" Blue Series replacement tube. That would be your best bet if you wanted to be able to add a switch.

You could add a switch to your Gold Series tube if you want...it would just be way to difficult to do it.

(you would have it, so that the four underbody neons are connected, but the extra tube would also be connected, but would be able to come on and off with a switch...if you want, i can make a diagram for you)

I thought of doing this...but then i realized that neons are illegal where i live, so it dosent really matter if the grill neon is on along with my underbodys.

Carl

Oh, and Jas84, i'll look into that explorer club thing. I haven't been to the website yet...but where do you guys meet once a month???

Thanks

Yeah, I'd just like to have the freedom to just have my underbodies on or just the grill...

So does the replacement neon come with the transformer in order to hook it up separately?

I have an opinion question for you, I (will) have the neo-blue underbody kit, any recommendations for the grill?? The truck is blue/white. Blue is on the bottom so it is mostly blue.
