Well, got my explorer back, Wont crank. Did some troubleshooting and I think its the clutch sensor.

I swapped to a manual transmission a few years back n (thanks again joshc). When I left for Korea my explorer went into storage. and since basically 07' it has sat in storage.

So new battery is in. I towed it about a thousand miles to my new place. Engine rotates. But cranky. Pulled the starter relay and can get the starter to engage when jumping the pins up top. No voltage on pin 85 :(. Also don't hear the fuel pump kick on. Without a wiring diagram right now so *IF* someone has one please post it. Also a casual search for the starter connections didn't show the wires but. Top post is hot bottom is ground I hope. My awesome father changed the starter for some reason and didn't connect the wires. Good thing he never turned in the core and I was able to get the solenoid wire off it. After 7 years I get to rebuilt / refresh everything. With a bonus of squirrels making a home out of my rear bench seat.

So tips and Ideas..... Also have a computer to change out the PCM to a manual in instead of automatic transmission when I can get the thing running.

Well, part is in. No starting. The neutral switch on the transmission is bad. Ran to the store and got back after dark... ugggg

Starter is not kicking in now. It clunks. And no spin. At least it's 23 out now.

Good to see you are back. :D

To be honest, it sounds like either bad battery connection or possibly the starter itself. Did you try a jump start? Try cleaning the battery terminal.

Sorry if I state the obvious, but maybe the battery has gone down with all troubleshooting?

Nope even better, when my dad decided to help me and change a perfectly good starter he hooked up the starter wires wrong. Took it to get tested. Its fine. The starter had the ground hooked to the solenoid. Amazing nothing melted. I only jumped the starter relay and the truck turned over fine now. Too bad the wife left with my jacket and the keys to the explorer are in it. Hopefully it will start now that everything *should* be wired right.

And its good to be back i am growing a beard!!!! Being in the army for darn near my entire life means this is my first real one going on week 8.

ok got crank on the key but no start. Getting there

Nice. If you got it to crank then check for fuel and spark (just not at the same time!;) )

It started up after the Manual trans swap, & before it went into storage?

If so... After Sitting that long, I would be checking for fuel pressure 1st, then wiring being chewed on by critters.

Oh... And welcome back! :)

purged the fuel up top, add 5 gallons of premiere gas and its running. needs a fuel filter

ok for the future, bypassed the clutch sensor, bled out the old gas from the line on top of the engine, and changed the plugs. New battery and changed old oil... one day this might be use full.

Runs like a top again after sitting in storage and wheels in the snow great :D

Might be a loose connection. Time to wiggle some harnesses!
