howdy yall its been a while since ive been here... well i sold my 02 explorer a while ago (for a 2010 Kia Forte Koup SX) BUT had an opertunity to buy a 96 explorer for $200, well when i bought it the 4wd didnt work nor did the power windows or interior lights... believe this or not a FUSE fixed all issues... couldnt believe it lol... anyway on to my issue, lately my O/D wasnt selectable(couldnt turn on or off) so i found out it was a broken wire in the gear selector lever so i got one from a junkyard and now i can turn the light on or off... NOW for the fun part, rolling 70mph at 3200rpm if i let off the gas the rpm drops to idle... ALSO if i turn the O/D off it does nothing but spike the rpm maybe 300rpm more then go back down... ive heard that the 3200 rpm is extremely high rpm at 70 for a stock truck... SO what could the issue be??? im trying to keep this truck cheap ima be giving it to my mother inlaw for a while till she gets on her feet... any help would be great!!!
ON a side note are the 4.0L's kinda gutless???? my wifes 2.0L jetta blows my explorers doors off all the time... it has 142,000miles on my rig
