Hi!
I am about to do some service on my 99' Explorer 4,0L and I have a question regarding the fluids for the automatic transmission and the transfer case.
According to my repair manual the fluid in the transfer case should be "Mercon type tranmission fluid".
In the tranny there must be Mercon V according to what I have read here in the forum.
In the catalogue from my local Ford-part-supplier I read about Motocraft Mercon V. There it is stated that it can be used as replacement for all older Mercon och Dexron III.
Does that mean that I can put Mercon V in my transfer case??
