Oops, I did it again...

I can ebay some 285 / 70 R17 (33's) from $400 for no name tires to $975 for Nitto TeraGrapplers. I also have a place near by that sells odd size and blem tires cheap, they often put them on ebay, but I can go pick them up for even less. The wheels can be had for $52 each from summit. I don't know if I will ever be able to run 35's with my IFS. (Thats why Im pondering a SAS with late model superduty axles so I can keep ABS and speed sensors)

I really didn't intend to hijack your thread there, Spas. ;)

It's impossible to hijack my threads, man. I was posting about Saleens and Gt500's a few pages ago ;)

Note to anyone using 5x4.5 to 6x5.5 adapters.. Dunno if it's just mine, but Wolf had to mill out the center by a few thousands to get them to fit over the dinky little hub-nub on the 8.8 axles. Just another one of the things I wish I'd known BEFORE I started this swap

For some reason Linds will always think 1/16th of an inch is just a couple thous. one day Linds, one day

ohh look at her with the purdy black tars abd rims. Looks pretty cool, now we just need a decent camera.

Got a little bit more work done today... New passenger side hardline is in, as are the 6" extended skyjacker softlines and driver hardline that I accidentally crimped  (v8 lines WILL work on a v6 in case you were wondering), Wolf finished welding the aluminum brackets on to my bling Summit radiator, and after fighting with it for half an hour I got the most blingy lower radiator hose ever seen on a wheeler on finally :)

Rookie, Jake and Wolf are going to hopefully get the steering, shock hoops and any possible driveshaft issues ironed out while I'm at work (no more days off left and I'd just be in the way anyway :p: ) tomorrow.. wish Morgan luck!

Summit 90 degree elbow, stainless flex pipe and heavy duty rubber fittings.. if it ever leaks I'll shoot somebody!

Digital camera quality tire shot as promised:

Ran the hardline along the new front crossmember, which is the same place my new Summit power steering cooler is going :D (STOP WITH THE FISH ALREADY!!!)
DSCN1250_Small_.JPG

The downside to such an awesome radiator... shroud no fit! Wolf's working on mounting tabs and I have to raid Home Depot and see if I can ghetto rig some rubber or lawn edging flaps to keep the air directed at the fan...

My WalMart way of adding character

Those seat covers are freakin awesome. I would sport a set of those in the zuk

anyway nice routing of the hard line. oh and i guess i will see you in a few hours

Nice. Can you please take some shots of where the crossmemeber was welded to the frame...pretty much a shot in that general area.

Looks good, can't wait to see it in a few hours. Are you sure you didn't swipe those covers from a Hell's Angel? Looks like we are gettin somewhere now :D

That front crossmember is a "patented" design, but I guess we can get a few closeups if you really need them ;)

Hmm

<---- :D

I dont know if I should run those wheels on the trail or lower a hummer and throw em on

Was that english?!?! I read it three times and I still can't understand what the heck you're saying... I need to relearn how to speak 'Micah' I think :D

Sorry, forgot your blonde.

<---- Im pointing to my avatar, and busting on those 17's at the same time.

Roflmao at the front crossmember decal :D

I can't wait to laugh at you when I have to drive you from Rook's house to White Rock because you truck can't handle the asphalt :D

and I cant wait to laugh at you when I drive over you on the RTI, then blow your doors off with the S-duty on the asphalt. While towing emily. :D

Ugh, finally...!

Well, as of 11 pm tonight, I finally got to hit 5th gear after owning this truck since spring :D Rookie did a fantastic job designing a suspension that would handle well on the road, Wolf did a great job welding said system in, and Jake has been a tremendous help getting it all together. Thank you again, guys!

I still have a few bugs to take care of, like rear shocks (need shorter ones if I want to have any uptravel, go fig!), have to bleed the brakes and the ABS controller and since the driverside bleeder is frozen I'll probably just invest in new calipers, need to get longer bolts for the rear swaybar/shock mount, shave down some fins on the transmission where the new crossmember rubs, figure out how the hell to route the OX cable since it exits the case and goes straight into the inside of my tire , and put in the new gears and lockers. I'm really disappointed in the 4.56's.. it's blatantly obvious that Morgan just has NO balls with them, so I ordered 5.13's :D

Ugh, I need sleep. Here, enjoy some pics, I'll take better one and a try some flexing on friday after I attempt to drive him home from Wolf's

Yay Chinese food!

Now THAT'S a driveshaft!!!
DSCN1254_Small_.JPG

It's barely hittng the trans but the vibration is enough to make me crazy:

Still looks like a jungle gym, but the drag link and trac bar angles are actually quite close:
DSCN1260_Small_.JPG

Apparently a first gen fan shroud fits WAYYY better on this radiator :) It works really well, too... the truck barely gets hot!
DSCN1261_Small_.JPG

Jake's kickass job on the steering stabilizer (it maxes about an inch from full lock.. doesn't bother me at all!)

Sawzall time!!

Rookie came up with the best ever front sway bar :D
