PCV Valve replacement interval

We replace our oil, filters, spark plugs and other things at regular intervals. Is there a replacement interval for the PCV valve? If so, what is the interval?

There uses to be replacement intervals for PCV valves, but I never saw one in my Explorers service manual. I replaced mine at 100,000 just for good measure... It was still good though...

My 2000 Ford Scheduled Maintenance Guide states to replace the PCV valve at 100,000 miles.

I clean my PCV with some spray carb cleaner, every 15K or so. Probably not necessary that frequently (since I can always hear the check ball moving.)
