i believe your only option is to go with a suspension lift...try fatbobsgarage.com , summitracing.com, or 4wheelparts.com...i hope this helps

It sucks but like tbars said, that is your only other option is to buy a suspension lift. There are a few different kinds of lifts out there, but they are all expensive. Good luck.

i guess i will have to man up and buy that damn lift it sux its so expensive but thanks for the help

before you go crazy, lol....use this forum to read threads on lifts before you then do some shopping...there is a lot of info here and if you look you will even find out who to buy from for the cheapest price and the best product...in the long run you will save yourself a lot of money just by using this wonderful site...

you might be able to buy new torsion keys for alittle more lift.

How about cutting for clearance instead of lifting?

Ya I know they sell larger tortion bar cams from SummitRacing, but I dont know if they specifically make them for Xs. They are supposed to give about another 1 or 2 inches of lift. Good Luck.

i really appriciate the info. im gonna try the torsion keys. i have no problem with rubbing its just I hate my x sitting at a rake. thanks

The torsion key lifts the front by increasing the pre-load on the torsion bar. The exact same thing you acheive with a TT.

If you use the keys with a TT you will put your CV's at to great of a degree.

If you don't care about your sheet metal then start cutting. To be perfectly honest.. If your trying to go to 33s, 34s or 35s then your only options are trimming, 4" Suspension, or RCD lift. The two later are more costly.. If you remove the tupperware and the corner pieces you can run 33s without rubbing.. If you leave the tupperware in place then trim the backsides of the fenders.

I was always told that cranking your Tbars to much would ruin your front suspension and rekeying doesn't give you any more lift then the Stock ones. Is that true?

they both do the same thing, rekeying just allows you to adjust the tbars more than with stock ones. There are also lowering keys you can buy. For explorers there really isn't a need for keys to lift them because most can lift about 2" with the stock setup. The general consensus is that 2" is safe to lift with the tbars, but more than that will start to prematulry wear the front suspension...ie ball joints and cv's

yeah thats exactly what i just realized after i read it again

Do you mind tell us why you want more height?
What are you planning to do with this increased height?
If we knew that, maybe we could figure out an alternative solution.

The only way to lower the front diff is with a drop down bracket(lift kit)

he said his truck is raked, so the rear sits higher then the front. Couldn't you lower the front diff to decrease the angle on the CV shafts and then go higher with the TT?

Well he has 2" AAL AND shackles, maybe he needs to get rid on the shackles to bring the rear down some. I think maybe he wants to keep the height of the rear and pick up the front, but why. What is the reason he wants it so high.
