Hi, everyone,
I installed a power liftgate in my 2017 PIU. At first glance, everything seems to work fine. The switch on the dash panel, the rear outside and inside switches, and the button on the fob all operate as expected. However, the liftgate only works for a couple of minutes after I reconnect the car's negative battery cable.
After that, pressing any switch triggers the sound of the liftgate latch, but the motor doesn't even attempt to open the gate. If I reconnect the battery, everything works again, but only for 2–3 minutes.
I checked for DTCs in ForScan, but there are no errors in the BdyCM or RGTM. I also ran a self-test for the RGTM, which passed successfully—even when the liftgate becomes inoperable after 2–3 minutes. During the test, the gate opens and closes without issues, and the test reports no problems.
I tried monitoring the RGTM PID data. While watching it online, the liftgate operates perfectly. I spent an hour observing this, and during that time, everything worked fine. However, as soon as I stop monitoring, the problem returns.
One thing I am uncertain about: there was no wire from the F69 fuse under the hood through the firewall, so I used a wire from F55, which is unused.
What am I doing wrong?

Today, I swapped my IPC with one from Platinum, and the problem is gone.
