does anyone have pics of a front hitch on a late 2nd gen like a 99 im wondering how far its gonna hang downs and how much the approach angle will be affected thank you for any advice
pete

the front hitch comes thru where the hole is in the bumper. so it doesnt effect the aparoch angle any that i know of.

I have a Curt tube style hitch. Very nice quality. Its just black, since I wasn't sure if I'd like a color matched one.

Those of you with front mount receivers, could you post up a pic or two? Does it stick out forward of the grille, or more like flush. I'm considering one to use for an occasional winch mount, but I don't really want to see it sticking out when not in use. I could've used a front winch for pulling people out of snow and mud several times last year.

any pics of a front hitch install

I don't think I have any good pictures of the front hitch pre body lift.,...but it does not stick past the bumper. When at stock height it came right thru the lower valance, and sat flush with it. With the tree inch BL it comes out under the bumper cover. Well actually it presses it up a bit, but is not all that noticeable.

Click the link in my signature to go to my Registry page for the X. There are many pictures on there that will give you the general idea.

Here is the best I could find Post BL. The first shows you how it mounts up with my skid attached to it.

The second you can see it poking out from under the bumper

Lastly there she is sporting her nose ring

mine came with a hidden hitch from the last owner, and i'm about to add one to the front from santa soon

I have a reese custom fit round tube on mine. Can't stand square tube jobs i see on some explorers

I don't have one yet, but I do like the round tube hitches.

re :

I have a round Putnam. This aint the best pic, but you can see it a bit. If you want a better one, lemme know. But it is snug up against the bumper. No gap at all.
