Hello!

Any concerns about using this plate bolted to the intake manifold to pull the engine? Would the bolts be strong enough? Thanks for taking the time. Love this forum

I honestly wouldn't but I've been wrong before.

Ok. Appreciate this. I’m a little nervous as well. I have a Haynes manual with a pic showing generally where to hook the chain in the back of the engine but I can’t see exactly where in the pic and I can’t seem to see on my engine. Any info? Thanks. Greg

I see guys lift big blocks with 4 bolts going into the carburetor mounting base on aluminum intake manifolds. No idea if the studs will pull out in this application though :(

Is there a mount that you can see possibly towards the bottom by the transmission housing? You may have to jack up the engine using a jack and a piece of wood to get it high enough to chain at the proper mount. I've done it with a Honda before. It had a mount on the bottom of the block. But make sure yoy use a block of wood otherwise you'll punch a hole in the oil pan.

I know! I’ve done it a hundred times with SBC. This is my first ever engine removal from a vehicle newer than 1988…also the first Ford I’ve worked on. I’m learning though.
