What?

If it's riding rough you might want to look at replacing the suspension components, most likely the shocks to start with...

Ok...if your truck is riding rough, there are a couple things to consider:

1. Its an Explorer, and they don't ride real great no matter what you do, at least before the 2002 model year.
2. Shocks are the easiest way to fix ride quality, but buying longer shocks will not help; they won't even fit.

And your comment about spindles doesn't make sense. Is your truck 2WD?

i think he wants longer travel... or thinks with longer travel it will soak up the bumps better...im confused

well to answer everyones question i really dont know what i am talking about that is why i was asking so thatnks for the imput i do know they ride rough and i was thinking longer shocks more travel less bumby and it is a two wheel drive so again thank you all for your help i appriciate it

You don't get long travel with just shocks. You can get a spindle to lift the front end but it's not going to ride any different either. Just need to get new "stock" shocks (if yours are bad) and it will ride better.

new shocks and sway bar bushings will get your factory ride back, or even better then stock if you use urethane bushings and better then OEM shocks.

Shocks dont dicate how much travel you get the suspension, shocks knly dampen the spring rebound
