is there a limit on the number of people? I sure would like to go destroy my exploder!

There is no real limit.

We do ask that you have a few minimums:

1) Rocksliders
2) A locker (rear prefered)
3) at least 33" tires if 1 locker, 31" if two lockers.
4) tow points front and rear (ie, hitch in rear is fine, tow hook on front bumper is fine.)

I'm not sure what I'm going to do? Colorado or Rubicon??????????? This is a tough one!

Char and I are having the same dilemma... It's been a few years since we've done Colorado so that's high on our list right now.

yeah um tell me which way I am supossed to go.......
so many runs so little time.
At this point I am a tennative on both runs, I am headed to Dubai from 06/19-07/01 so alot of it depends on how ready I am for the trip.

Ditto, WTF??? :fire: :fire:  I already put in for the time off work, just waiting for the schedule to come out.

Geez, such hostility..

Just checking up on you guys!

Assuming I can get the time off work I should be able to make the run. Tracy plans to start working on an on board shower setup on her jeep this weekend. Sure will be nice getting cleaned up with some nice warm water instead that cold lake water this time :D

Anyone know if we need to do bear containers or anything? In the past I have heard mentions of bears on the con but I have never had a run in with one and would like to keep it that way. It is looking more and more like I will be making this run. I think I will be working in oakland right before the run and then right after the run I will be in truckee. I have told the boss 3 times so far the dates I will be gone so I hope he remembers.

mmmmmmmmm rubicon....I'm actually relocating up to Chico in about a month so I'll be able to meet you guys up there, maybe the next time when my truck is more "ready" ;)

Bears are unknown on the Rubicon - they are there, they have visited camps.

Usually, I hear about the bear stories later in the year.

Our best bet is to maintain a clean camp - that means, limit the cooking near your food, wash pots and pans somewhere else, make sure everything is sealed tight, clean up bloody messes quickly (and try not to create them).

Time Table

Tdavis is this the time table we are working with ??

July 15th
Arrive in Placerville (Hotel)

July 16th
Placerville (Hotel) to Buck Island Lake

July 17th
Buck Island Lake to Look out Point and back to Buck Island Lake

July 18th
Buck Island Lake to Placerville (Hotel)

July 19th
Depart Placerville (Hotel) for home.

At first, I thought I had made a mistake - and I realize I did.

But in thinking about it, coming out on Monday, July 18th, makes a better day than Sunday (when everyone is trying to get out). Trying to get out is usually when I hit the traffic jams - and having a clear trail out IS prefered.

So the 15th is Friday.
16th is Saturday (Loon to Buck Island)
17th is Sunday (Buck Island to Look out point, and back)
18th is Monday, Buck Island back to Loon (and home)

Is this ok with everyone?
