I have access to a D-30 and ford 9" out of a bronco. Would you still conceder this a good SAS for the Explorer? These axles would be free, thats why I ask.

Not very desirable axles because of their strength. The axles in your Explorer are stronger.
That D30 is a closed knuckle with drum brakes and the 9" is a small bearing 28 spline.
