selling my sct xcal-2 advice

i had my sct xcal-2 (9400) tuner for over 3 years and love it! i got it from james at henson performance for $395.00. its still like new, have all the discs, cable, paper work, package,etc..... well, i always wanted a nitro r/c truck for almost 20 years. the one i want, t-maxx 3.3 is $462.99. so im thinking about trying to sell my tuner to help with the funds. im just trying to see what i can get for it. like i said, it looks and works like new. have everything you need. i paid almost $400. i know you have to be an elite member to sell on the website. im just asking.any ideas? thanks a lot!

The best idea I can think of is support the site that supports you.

Then you can run an ad and sell it in confidence.

I sold mine on the site for $300 shipped a little over a year ago. Just make sure you return your truck to it's "Stock" tune to unlock the tuner

yea i agree. i been wanting to join the elite for a while. i mean i got it for sale on craigslist and ebay.

wow, $300. i would really be happy with that. i would only need $262 more,lol. if i knew some one would buy it, i would join for sure. yea i know to return mine back to stock.

This thread is a "feeler" if I've ever seen one which is pretty much saying "I have something for sale....what will someone offer me for it?". I'm with Turdle on this one. Why not join the site because you want to, not just so you can sell something (which you're trying to do here)?

i dont see why you have to join to sell something any way. i mean why does who ever gets the $20 need to make money when some one wants to sell something? im just trying to get an idea what its worth. if it looses value. i don't want to sell it for $150 if i can get $250 or more. i said i already got it on craigslist and ebay. i mean yea, if some one sent me a messgae and said i will buy it, then i would get his or hers address and sell it to them. but i got an idea what i can get, so its all good.

It's worth about 150ish unlocked. If it's locked..throw it away. It does a lot of the same as the Xcal 3 but it's old.

ok, im elite now! finally! i wasn't trying to talk smack about paying. just get a little agravated at people. its unlocked. i returned it to stock before just to see if it worked out ok. but only $150??? that one thread above said he got $300 for his. i was hoping to get atleast $200.00.

Selling is but one perk of being Elite outside of the coolness factor of being able to say that you support something that saves you MUCH more than $20/year. Small price to give back. Some people can spend hundred and thousands on useless mods and spraypaint, but ask them to drop $20 on a good cause and they whine and moan (not directed at you).

ohhhh, i see. thats why. i still think i should get at least $200. i mean just cause its a few years old, it looks and works like new. plus it still has all the benefits and options. im hoping some one would maybe trade there r/c car/truck for my xcal-2.

FWIW, I think you should keep it if you're keeping the truck. SCT tuning is so much better than stock. You're starting to sound like another forum regular that's always looking to trade his stuff for other stuff. Save the money for the toy without having to sell your stuff. Collect bottles, get a job if that's what it takes.

You're starting to sound like another forum regular that's always looking to trade his stuff for other stuff. Save the money for the toy without having to sell your stuff. oh believe me i hear ya. i really don't want to sell it. i mean i put my truck back to stock, and even with the other mods i have, its a big difference. especially the shifts. stock i can hardly feel the shifts. plus i like to be able to read and clear codes with it. i got over $600 plus i get $1040,00 a month from unemployment. but my unemployment ends in about 9 weeks if i don't get any extensions. so i don't want to use whats left over of my income tax, and i can't get a job soon, and be out of money. i just want one sooooo bad. i live right next to a park, and they have this huge track built just for r/c vehicles. so i see them all the time. add that to wanting one for almost 20 years. but im just seeing if theres any one interested. i could always get the xcal-3 when i get a job or come across some money.

$150 is probably the most you would get. You have to remember that whoever buys it will have to buy new tunes, adding another $100-$150 to what they pay you for it. Which is just cheap enough to maybe justify buy a used, older model device.

yea im starting to see that price more than the $200 + theres 2 selling on ebay. theres 2 days and some hours left. im watching them to see what they sell for. right now one is at $76 and the other is at $81. but i know they will go up more by time the auction ends. see, if i got $150.00 and tried to get the r/c i want, i need another $300 plus i gotta buy fuel. thats why i thought maybe some one had a r/c they would trade. some one looking for a tuner that has an r/c to trade if its something i would want. i mean im new to these r/c vehicles. so i dont really need a $462.00 brand new nitro truck to begin learning. but i gotta say, that t-maxx 3.3 nitro is sweeeet!
