Should I buy it? Check it out

Looking at it tomorrow....will ask why he thinks I should not run it for a few hours with the 5 speed and 4.56's...says he changed oil every 3k, 180,000 miles on truck with engine rebuild 30k ago, tranny brand new, lift, lockers, and gears pretty recent, plus new 33's....raised the price to $2500....but still seems like a steal...a guy who does alot of off roading told me to be weary of that year IFS and a 6" lift though, says its trouble?

it will eat wheel bearings, and the flex sucks but other than that it should be fine.

In this area it is cheap, not sure if that qualifies it as a "good deal" though...lift, gears, locker, new 33s, even with 180k if it runs its cheaper than other used lifted trucks in the DC area

Ok guys, looked at it and drove it tonight. The normal wobbles for what lifted trucks Ive driven before and with mudders on it. The tires are dang near brand new, the lift and lockers are older and put on by previous owner. It def has a locker because you can feel it going around corners. Clutch seems strong and aftermarket, does not feel stock at all, strong grip. The tranny is 5 speed and the only reason he said to drive it only for 2 hours was superstition, he has driven it to PA 2 hours and WV 1 hour with no problems. The RPMs seemed perfect and he didnt know much other than saying he just would be careful on long road trips, but it seemed fine and felt better than my old Blazer I had with 33s and 3.73 gears.

Rust, the rocker panels are shot, and there is surface rust underneath, nothing super bad though, and expected I guess for a 91 with 180,000 miles. Said at 150,000 miles the original owner rebuilt the engine and put in the 5 speed from another vehicle which the kid wasnt sure what kind of vehicle it came out of. Again, drove fine, seemed strong, went up to 60 mph with no problems or major steering issues. This would be my weekend warrior as I have an 04 Grand Cherokee with 40k miles for my daily driver. I want something to hit the trails on the weekends with...

Anything that would kill me if it broke? I think the t-case is the only thing that has not been rebuilt or replaced. Had manual hubs so they should be okay, Ive had problems in the past with auto hubs and ended up replacing them with manuals (but I used to do water crossings all the time when I was a young idiot).

Please give me your feedback, Im leaving for the weekend and told him I would let him know by Sunday/Monday and he said he will hold it for me since he got along really well with me. We talked wheeling and hunting for a few hours.

He needs to sell it because his mom is wanting the money she had to front for a DWI attorney.

"I am selling a 1991 ford explorer with a 6inch superlift and almost new 33" mud tires. This truck has a current VA inspection. New transmition 5 speed manual. The motor was rebuilt at 150 thousand, and now has 180 thousand. It has 456 gears front and rear with a detroit locker in the rear. Cloth seats, blue interior. Runs very strong, i dont want to sell her but i need money for a lawyer. This is a steal for 2500 because the lift and tires alone are worth more than that. Consistant oil changes every 3,000 miles, never skipped. Perfect for daily driver or weekend warior. "
