I think the 2nd gen 2 door sport models and sport trac models don’t get enough love. Far too often are they overlooked for standard 4 door models old and new. Let’s show them a little love!!
I'm not seeing any more Broco IIs laying around these parts. The solid ones have been snapped up and the junk ones get shredded pretty fast.
OP, forgive me for stepping on your thread.
Just to bring this thread back to the top, here are some more photos from today. I just replace the front upper and lower control arms, shocks, bump stops, CV axles, and did a minor torsion bar lift to try and level it with the rear lift springs (ARB OME CS042R), so I figured I'd take it on a few trails for a test run with good bushings and a non-clicking CV. I got stuck a few times with the open differentials, so time to get a rear locker and front limited slip to let me run some more intense trails in the area.

Indeed. I've been off-roading for just shy of 30 years, from full-size trucks to Jeeps, and there's just something about the Explorer Sport that is a great size for the trails in my area. My Jeeps were also great on the trails here, especially with their locked solid axles, but they were also severely compromised outside of the trails. I ran a couple of trails that I have run in my other off-roader, which is locked front and rear but also several feet longer in the wheelbase. What the Explorer lacked in tire size and ability to put the power to the ground, it made up for with being considerably lighter and more nimble. The picture below is one trail that absolutely tests suspension flex and punishes open differentials. The picture is deceiving - the trail is at about a 35% grade (the Explorer scared the crap out of me when it slid about 6" after I climbed out to take the picture) and the ruts are 2-2.5' deep (they are deeper in other spots, but I wasn't willing to get out and take photos there), and after I made it to the bottom I wasn't certain I'd make it back up. Fortunately, with a careful line and the lighter weight of the Explorer I was able to make it back up even through some spots that I couldn't make up in my other vehicle without both lockers engaged.
There is one more that just came to our attention recently I think it’s a German brand and it can fit the regular rotation d35 housing and pass axle shaft with a little machine work
It was posted here recently let me see if I can find it. The torsen is made in batches and can be very difficult to get your hands on
Yep, like Fix4Dirt said, Torsen is about the only ready-to-install option, but also like 410Fortune said they are made in batches so once you get on the wait list it can be a while (like years) before the next batch is made.

Yeah, I had seen that Powertrax used to make a Lock Right for the D35 SLA, but it doesn't look like it has been made in a few years. It would have been great if they had made a No Slip, as it at least would be streetable in the front without requiring unlocked front hubs.
It looks like Torsen is thinking they'll have another batch for the D35 SLA sometime in mid-2025.

It is time to post a product review on the only front locker available for our '95+ Explorers, the Powertrax NoSlip. For years we've waited on unfulfilled hopes and/or promises from corporations like ARB and KillerAxles, but one - and only one - locker is made today for our front differentials...

according to this it was a no slip?
could you get. CAD axle and then no power to front?
