SMORR 2011....Official thread

Think I'm ready to play with the big dogs:D.

Going to do my best to have it ready to go by May, paid all of $1500 for it.

Think this means Jason has to get his Ranger ready to wheel:p:.

Things are too fluid right now and I don't know if I will be able to attend. The ranger has some issues and I don't know if I will be able to make the changes in time.
Won't be the same with out you there man. Anything any of us can do to help ya out?

Nice score!

Whats the mod list for it?

Suppose to be a 6in suspension lift but pretty sure its 4in.
3in body lift
35in mud kings
also the guy claimed it had been regeared, thinking I believe him since it still had some power when the transmission shifted right, its completely lost since the speedometer isn't working. When I was driving it home the speedo started working for a little bit and it seemed to know when to shift.
I'm sure I'll find more as I dig into it some more, its half tempting to yank the manual trans out of my Explorer and shove it in there but.

That ranger looks pretty sweet!!!

And do to unforseen House buyer wanting to come see my house this weekend that take more priority than GmanPaint and I's prerun this Saturday, but we are still going to get out there before the meet. Hopefully this buyer will want my house, let the mods proceed on truck!!

And Yellowford cut those nerf bars off LOL

If mine runs, and holds together, we'll see what they can do. I gotta call 4x4 Land in Topeka today and see if the axle is done. If it is I gotta go get it, then I just have to cut off all the old shock towers and coil buckets, and put on my shiny new stuff. (booger welds supporting the weight of the truck, that shouldn't be a problem right?) Then put the axle back together and she'll be ready for a test drive. Oh yeah, it might help if I fill everything with fluids and put the drive-shafts back in too. I have some cool shock tabs on the way from RuffStuff for the rear axle.

Once everything is together I'll have to drive it somewhere (without shocks, that'll be exciting) and flex it to measure for new ones.

If I can get a full day of work done on it I think I will be close. Who wants to come help this weekend? LOL

Ellesar65 -find some one with loader bucket or a fork lift and use that for checking flex for shock lengths. :)

What a steel Levi !! So are you going to beable to make this run??? I agree with brad those nerf bars are going to get trashed hanging that low. You need to get some real sliders made.

But who cares?? That's a good looking rig!!! What are you doing with your other truck???

Ice cream man has confirmed, they will be out there selling us their vast assortment of yummyness on the evening of the 14th. :)

I think this is a fun / different thing to have out in the middle of nowhere on a warm night, and I will be looking forward to hearing the ding ding man out there with us!

Now you need to work on getting the Hooters Girls out there with Chicken Wings and Beer about Dinner time :D

Sorry Cyber, your just going to have to go to Hooters, for your thrills. :p:

I already asked the park owner and they said NO. I have used the hooter girls for a couple other events and they do a great job. SMORR is a family orientated establishment and this type of theme is against the grain there.

Who is interested in doing a Pot Luck side dish for Saturday dinner? I can start a new thread for it if you guys are game this year. Other runs do it and say it is a huge success.

We will break from the trails around 5pm to head back to camp and have dinner. We can either gather at camp or we can use the Pavilion with tables and benches for dinner. There is power in the pavilion for any dishes that need warmed (think crock pots).

Just let me know :)

A lifted ice cream truck running level 4 trails with us? While selling frozen deliciousness?

Not sure if I'm going to make it yet, the problem with getting such good deals is thers normally a catch and with the ranger its the trans I either need to rebuild it or go manual leaning toward manual at this point, so not sure if I can get that done in time.

The nerf bars have already been cut off, with the light bar going next.

Currently still have my explporer, sold the mustang like a month ago and had been stalking craigslist when I found it. The only thing thats going to hold me back from getting out done will be school, teachers have recently decided to add a ton of extra work.

Holy crap May not April, put me down as a maybe I might be able to do that.\

She needs upper BJs, coolant flush, rebuild support bars, alignment and tire rotation

Not too much just some time

Hopefully the stars align for you, and you get done what needs to be. We all enjoy you out there with us, and would be a shame if you couldn't make it.

Fingers crossed for ya!

Rodger that! That's a weekend list for a pro like you! :D

See ya there!:salute:

I'm still game just as an update, and who knows...there may be a special appearance by a certain bandit...

On another note, I forgot to mention I can bring all my obd-ii data logger and code reader so anyone who needs codes pulled or something happens on the trails, that can be available. Would anyone be interested in this? Just let me know, and ill outfit the computer system for mobile use :D

In case no else has noticed it But SMORR has new maps of there place now.

You can view and download it here:
http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=312872

They have Paper Version at SMORR or you can download the .pdf version from there Site.

Gman beat you to the punch, post 128

New maps are going to be extremely nice, there were numerous trails not marked, lets just say I learned first hand about that(Explorer on 33's open front and rear, can do a level 4 if your determined).

Looks like I should be able to make it, the trans in the Ranger is going to have to hold out for awhile, been gettin some stuff done on it. Got some new shocks on the rear it now no longer rides like a tractor(superduty shocks are the perfect length for a 6in lift on a ranger).
