All my tools are packed up ready for the move :(

But I'd like to see somebody do some more tube work. Like Matt. Plus, DB_1 has been quiet lately.

lol not all of us possess bottomless bank accounts around here.

Well I sure dont cauz on days where I dont have class (and therefore can go home at normal hours), I skip lunch at work and eat at home so I can save some green for the Explorer. I've also started hypermiling the Civic again (gave it up in Feb) and turned down the welder's shielding gas from 30 cfm to 20-ish cfm - man I'm getting cheap

Matt's got all those tools he's been building - he's got something exciting coming down the pipeline.

Does the building have to be in the automotive field??? :)

But that's why i also frequent dezert rangers, and pirate once in a while. They have tons of large-scale builds constantly being updated.

busy here buying axle parts 1 nut and bolt at a time! Almost ready to send them out for assembly. Then the build will resume.

well, here is something i started.....

a front reciever/winch bumper made with 3/8" thick side plates, 4" x 4" x 5/16" angle to hold the reciever and a 2" x 2" x 1/4" angle to support the winch cradle ( didn't want it to "flop" around much ).

this is only "phase 1", still gotta drill the holes for the shackles, mount the tubes to finish up the bumper, and add a couple off road lights and a small skid plate.

also thinking of doing a "sheet" style ends....not for sure which i may do

one without the winch in place

one with it in place

no job= no mas=no projects :(

IZ, I emailed you some opinons about a future project. I held off on tubing out the front of my truck because I welded up the radiator supports. I'm still mad I don't have a tire carrier created yet. Need some of the proper tools but slowly gaining access and better skills on the welder.

Last 2 nights I've been blasting the finish off my sliders from the 94 to go under this truck.

Also decided this is pretty much the style of roof rack I'm going to try to nock off. It's going to run the complete length of the truck and dip below the windshield for lights similar to this beetle.

And, also considering hacking up a set of beams I got from JTX. Wanting to do the R.J. mod of widening them for the full size bronco center shaft mod....I just know that will amount to more and more $$$ for coilovers and whatnot.

Im going to build that same style light rack. I love the low profile and looks.

Nice "vocho"!! must be mexican, it looks too new

I'm picking up a new to me welder this weekend (Hobart Beta Mig 200, rated 200amps 28V 60% duty Cycle) and I have some tubing and a steel sheet coming to make a couple weld tables. I've been to busy working on the house to work on the Explorer. I picked up a broken Cut 40 for cheap on Ebay that I fixed and is working great now as well :D

edit: I did build a new cage for my go-cart/buggy thing not too long ago. (don't mind the carpy flux cored tac)

It's fate. Build it. :)

I don't visit the hump day thread. Too much giggling makes my tummy ache.

Froader told me I need to build a rat rod after the Explorer is done .. I think he's correct. Either that or an ultralight so I can fly across the country and give you a kiss on the cheek.
